Stephen Gogolev withdraws from Canadian Nationals because of COVID

This is very depressing to post another thread like this just a few minutes after posting one about Amber Glenn, but while checking for updates on US Nationals, I found a tweet from International Figure Skating magazine saying that Stephen Gogolev withdrew from Canadian Nationals because of testing positive for COVID.

Their tweet said "We are told he is feeling fine, has no symptoms and is very disappointed he will not be able to compete this weekend. "

Yes, I was really looking forward to seeing Stephen Gogolev skate as it's been a long time, I was very disappointed to hear he'd withdrawn

well.. these sort of threads will keep coming and coming and coming... especially with all the competitions to qualify and prepare the olympic games... very glad that nationals are held without an audience. Skate Canada was smart to try to protect the athletes as much as possible.

I miss Gogo. He did skate earlier in the season although I managed to only catch his SP - I should go look at YouTube.

You'll hardly recognise him except for his hair, he looks so different!

I am so lucky. Conrad Orzel and Gogolev trained at the same rink my daughter trains. So I was able to watch them practice after ours finish. They were breath taking. And we both are super sad to find out the news he withdrew…
