2022 U.S. Nationals: Senior Men's Free Skate

Oh no! Not again! This happened to him in Lombardia... Oh dear is he doing to be like Jun, who as far as I know has never found boots that don't give him issues.

That's just too sad... Wants to send all the stuffies to Yaro.
He also has a groin injury. Someone mentioned that Todd Eldredge said that his blades were misaligned at one point, causing groin issues.

I always liked Tatiana, but didn't know Ilia was her son. That's a cool talking point.
I didn't know that either until today.. I thought his last named sounded familiar... when Terry mentioned his dad from Uzbekistan,
I remember Tatiana was also from Uzbekistan. Tatiana had huge jumps.. it all makes sense now.

C’mon - who did you enjoy the most? Def not Nathan, def not Vincent. Jason YES, Ilia YES!
When Vincent skates his FS clean it's amazing as well. I don't think it's fair to dismiss him like that.

But as a hater of contraversy I think it's probably best to leave Vincent at home. Seriously, I'm not lying when I say he has haters. They might possibly be worse than the Plushy haters (I know!) they'll make it impossible to enjoy the men at the Olympics, at least for me, so yeah no.

Scott Hamilton!

Who did this happen to

Jason gave away the Bronze with his lack of technical firepower you mean?

Never understood the entitlement around this. When you have as little TES as Jason does you need to be 100% clean.... and he wasn't. If you have high TES you can afford mistakes.

It isn't some conspiracy.
I mean, both got very generous scoring, but the technical panel were very lenient on Vincent this time around with his URs. Jason should have gotten bronze, BUT I don't think he should/would get a spot on the Olympic team. I think it's between Jason and Ilia, and an argument can be made either way.

Well if it happens, Jason will have also lost the Olympic spot for failing to have more than one quad attempt across both programs, and that one quad attempt he had was underrotated.

Jason will also have lost the Olympic spot because Zhou delivered in the SP.

Jason will also have lost the Olympic spot because Vincent had much better results than Jason internationally this season.

Even if Jason had eked ahead of Zhou, it would be foolish for the US to not send the skater with literally the 2nd highest total score internationally over the skater with the 9th highest total score internationally.

Also, let's be clear, it's not Jason's Olympic spot. Yes, he helped earn 3 spots at Worlds, but he isn't entitled to the spot.

(y)(y)(y)(y)(y) Thank you for articulating this all so clearly. I love Jason and his skating, but all of the above that you said about Vincent is a matter of record. And I love Vincent too. The Olympic spot never did, never does, belong to anyone until they earn it ... looking at all criteria.

Considering the huge gap the judges gave Jason in PCS and how the panel forgave him on some of those elements
I say they probably realllyyy want him in the team and he'll be named,
