"artistry" in FS seems to lump in most everything that is not a jump. Skating skills, edges, speed, spin quality and speed, lines, and the artistic performance and interpretation of the music. But much of this is actually skating skills...athletic elements needed to perform in this sport and to perform the elements at a high level. The fact that only a very small part of the score is focused on these skills is ludicrous. Jumping is great and should be valued .. but so should the rest of the skating skills and elements. And fallen jump scores need to be significantly reduced.

The Olys is not seen as a training ground for experience, but an accomplishment for athletic goals achieved.

Malinin has 4 years to gain experience.

The Olympics should have the best representatives from each country at the point when the Olympics are occurring, not be some prize to those who have stuck it out for 4 years. Granted Brown's BOW is worthy of another Olympic spot over Malinin, but Malinin's SP+FS isn't negligible of Olympic consideration simply because he hasn't had the opportunity to achieve the same athletic goals that Brown has achieved throughout his career.
