2022 Olympics Team Event Day1: Rhythm Dance

There US won.

I love it when posters are like "The fix is in! Russians cheating again no surprise."

Then they don't win or whatever and crickets. Like no-one has the grace to apologise. They just pretend they never said it and we're all supposed to forget they did.

Mmmm'kay that's totally fair.

I mean granted they made a pretty obvious mistake and arguably should be below the Italy and Canada team but were not.
Fix can be In but the skaters still have to perform.

I would have never predicted after the Nationals short program that H/D would win the short in the team event. Wow. Good for them and they don’t have to worry about the C/B fans.
I had a feeling there was a strategy to putting H/D in the RD and C/B in the TE. To both skate brilliantly and set them alongside S/K and be sure they shine. Thus erasing any doubts about their Nationals skates. Well, well done. Brilliantly skated, Maddie and Zach!

Maddie and Madi (which is which? idk) were very sweet in the booth. Chock very happy and supportive toward Hubbell.

Wow. The judges sure signaled that they're not afraid to go off-script.

It really would have been an injustice for Zach and Maddie not to win this segment.

Slightly surprised at the Italians beating the Canadians - off script again.

I haven't watched RDs since the start of the season, and my initial impressions have not improved.

I agree that SinKats aren't all that. They improved over the years from where they started, but that doesn't make them the best. Katsalopov shouldn't have broken up with his better skilled partner, Elena I, as they were much more skilled and interesting together. While Sinitsina has improved, and SinKats are a better team than when they started, they are NOT better than a lot of the teams they continue to be placed in front of. Everyone knows there was a push by Rusfed and Zhulin for SinKats, and Rusfed also tried it with the entertaining, but lesser skilled Stepanova/Bukin.

I don't agree with Tanith trying to talk up SinKats in the booth, which only continues to uphold the nefarious ice dance politics.

i wonder if there is curling on right now... at this point, i feel pretty much done already with figure skating

Been friends for a long time.

I'm not too optimistic, but I hope I am pleasantly surprised. However, it would be rather surprising if pairs and ladies held it together through both the SP and the FP.
We will see. I want a clean skate from Mishina/Galliamov because they are my favorites, but overall I would prefer an exciting competition with close scores until the end.

With my untrained ice dance eye, I thought that the Russians were best. But they had clealy a couple of minor mistakes so they are second. Seems fair to me.
