2022 Olympics: Women's Free Skate

I'm sure Kaori or Valieva would've been happy to receive a silver medal. Instead of throwing tantrums, go back home and work on your PCS Trusova or landing clean quads. Yea she did 5 quads but they were all very messy. Atleast with Nathan Chen who also skates devoid of any artistry, the quads are landed clean.

She is 17 and she has been working for it all her life, and this defo looked like a nervous breakdown.
She kept it together after Anna's scores and then after Kamilas skate it was too much.

Cut her some slack
She is 17 and has been competing for most of her life. She knows how competitions work. Only one person will win gold. She got an Olympic silver medal. And the person winning gold is your training mate!

So many things to say, but first thing to get off my chest: considering I reached out to Anna in YVR 3y ago telling her, wholeheartedly, that I loved her skating (after a competition where she failed all her quad attempts and left w/o medaling at all) you'd think I'd be thrilled that she's now ogm, but I just cannot help but feel sad instead looking at her & just how emaciated she has looked this entire time in my home olys... (Yeah, she's always been slender, I can also believe she's not a big eater by nature, I also never weighed above 105 in my entire life, but I've watched every competition since when she was a junior and she's never looked like this, even w/the smelling salts...) So many "we've won but at what cost" feelings...

I think she was talking about her senior career. The big events. :(
Also, shame on everyone who accuses her of throwing a tantrum. You should try training for 12 hours a day in that camp and endure what these girls endure. Now they're not even allowed to be human.

If this was not on TV no one would know. I feel for her heartbreak at not placing second, but I can't help but feel a little more heartbreak for Shcherbakova because the gold medalist just seems like she's unable to celebrate and her coaches are all off dealing with 1 skater who bombed and another throwing a fit. But this is Shcherbakova's personality and why, technical issues aside I commend her; we saw it at 2020 Russian Nationals after Trusova bombed and Kostornaia was pissed she was very demure with her composure we all said then we thought it was out of respect for her teammates now we have that moment again.

give her a bit of slack won't you.
You sound like Eteri now :ROFLMAO:

Well, she left Eteri group and came back, so it was her decision to be in that camp...

Yes she would have, she won the FS segment by about 2 points; had she landed the triple axel she would have won. She skated the way she wanted to but she needed to be flawless because the only highlight of her skating is her jumps.
They probably would have reduced her PCSs accordingly. I dunno. I think they motivated her by allowing her to believe that she can win gold, and then the ugly truth had finally dawned at her. That the princesses will always win, and that nobody likes a peasant girl who is ambitious and competitive, and how they will all tell her that it’s her own fault. 🤷‍♀️

Here is the glimpse of Sasha's meltdown where she says something like this: "never in life, never in life, i hate this sport, I hate it, i hate it, i hate it".
And the woman comforting Kamila is saying: "it's not your loss - (several times). you will skate and you will show what you can do. I don't say this just like that, do you understand it? hang it there. Let it be the worst thing that every happens in your life"

I suddenly remembered Sasha's interview with her brother. This girl has been under the expectation to win for years, including her family. She must be devastated. She's a child. I can't believe the insensitivity in this thread. It's easy from your couch to judge her.

Because she never won a senior gold medal. It’s always Scherbakova, Kostornaya or Valieva. I think she probably had that belief that if she lands all her quads, she’ll win. And the way the scores went, even if she landed 3A, she wouldn’t have won.
TBH, has she landed 3A in SP, she would have been the winner. She was way too far behind to catch up comfortably. He PCS are just not there no matter how much the judges try to be merciful. Also the jumps today weren't 100% clean either.
