Gleb is very unlucky too. I mean, his stamina had recovered a little, but he caught covid the second time...

He still skated both of his JGPs, skated in JGP a couple of years ago, made final, and has TES, while Dikidzhi was injured, his Challenger didn’t give him his TES… and it is hard to say if he could make international stage as a junior at all. Despite impressive skating.

He won RCF, so he'll be on the national team and will be invited to the Test Skates. It's very likely he'll get JGPs. He has two more junior-eligible seasons.

I checked a couple weeks ago, and to my understanding the junior competition at Denis Ten fulfilled all the requirements to count for TES minimums.
But it will not matter anyway now.

Thank goodness! Plushenko, Sokolovskaya, Davydov? maybe even Smirnova? That would be great… her students are so well-rounded. Or maybe taking a chance to leave altogether before he had competed? His generation’s careers, at least, can still be salvaged, if the parents act quickly and decisively.

With Kulikova and Kolesnikov, Skolovskaya’s group will become more prominent, that’s for sure. I am really glad for Kolesnikov, though I still think his parents need to look farther afield before it’s too late.

Is there any chance the Russian junior lads might still make it to JWC in Tallinn in mid-April? I'm lighting all my candles, but it's looking bleak at the moment.
This hits me harder than the ban of the seniors. I was so looking forward to Ilia vs. Ilya with some back-up from Gleb/Artem/Vlad.
(And yes, I am aware the world has bigger problems at the moment, but I am compartmentalizing, otherwise this $%*! will drive me crazy.)

Literally the first thing I thought of when the banned dropped was how impossible it is that Kolyada will miss the Olympics and Worlds. My second thought were of the Junior men. Juniors were already shafted due to the pandemic. To add a ban on top of that is just catastrophic.Is there any chance the Russian junior lads might still make it to JWC in Tallinn in mid-April? I don’t think the ban would be lifted by next month. At this point, I’m just hoping it’ll be lifted by the start of next season and that the quotas will be kept.
Edit: In lighter news, was the Junior team even named at this point? I’m thinking Kovalev and Yablokov would have been named. That third spot is a question mark.

Me too, but realistically, I am prepared to watch JW without the guys. How does conscription work in Russia? Is there a chance that these boys might be drafted against their will and sent to the conflict zone?

I have no idea how it works now, but in my time, it was universal, so it was chronic illness or college acceptance by draft age, or grab the shovel and machine gun, and go. I think athletes had exceptions too, because in the past, I’ve read that the male skaters could have been ‘motivated’ by a specific coach by bringing up a potential for service in Afghanistan. So, for now, I think they are all more or less okay, but they started to draft the reservists—they say Putin signed it a week or so before the war.
