Ladies Short Program

Performance aside, I'm soooo disappointed with Yu-na's new SP dress. This dress really DOES make Yu-na look like a baby ballerina - it makes her look immature. I like the blue dress waaaaaaaay better. It looked classy on her. If you cover her shoulders it just kills her lithe shoulder line. I hope LP dress is better.

Also, she skated real slow for her standard. Looked very tentative and injured.

Agreed.

Yu-Na is still in the running, but I don't see her winning anymore.

she still has a chance of winning if she goes clean in the long, and for yu na, clean is usually perfect...

but if mao doesn't seize this chance, she's gonna cry harder than last year

Shame on the judges for pushing Miki Ando down below skaters with subpar perfromances, sure she can't do the Bielllmann any longer but she went clean with what she was capable of doing and unlike others(Asada) she corrected her jump technic. I guess the judges wanted to set up Asada or Kostner for the win. I hope Ando doesn't let this discourage her and goes for all or nothing in the LP with the way this has been judged she'll need the quad to pull up.

They certainly are up to their old tricks of holding up their favs. No way should Yuna be ahead of Joannie. She did not have the flow or speed that she usually does. That's why I'm sure Kimmie will be in the top 5 after the short no matter what.

You are right. This doesn't make sense to me at all.

Kiira Korpi
Triunfal
Black dress with stripes on skirt

3Z-2T, very cleanly done
3R, nice
Layback side to lowered leg to catchfoot, ok
Spiral sequence, deep edges
2A, clean performance!
Flying sit spin, the Finnish ladies have wonderful basics
SLSS, a bit slow and not as complex as the other tops skaters
Final combo spin, good basic positions

Great skate by Kiira.

This sport is dying if such a great programme as Sarah did was ranked 6... She is the only one who is not alike all the other skaters... She has magic....
Jumps, that what counts.... :(

The scoring is all over the place. Kim should have been farther back with that bad fall. Obviously the judges wanted to keep her in it. Meier and Rochette should both have been ahead of her. And then to put Korpi in 4th with a very similar kind of skate....it's just totally unpredictable. Bizarre.

Lepisto is doing a disaster....no combo (since apparently she put down her foot...i didn't understand well what the commentators said), single solo jump....
She lost a chance today

I wondered the same thing as rain -- just from following the pbp and scores, with similar content, why is Korpi in 4th with Rochette and Meier further down?

Korpi in 4th- What? Not sure what's going on here today? I thought the harder jumps were suppose to bring the bigger marks. Now we're going the other way with the lower level jumps giving better resutls. Seems like the last flight are getting bonus marks for being the last flight. I thought COP was suppose to do away with this type of thing.
Now Joannie and Miki will be out of the final group and will get lower marks in the LP because of it.
