Specifically, choreo elements in dance (and singles/pairs) is applied differently. In the singles/pairs choreo sequence, a +1 mark from the judges equates to .5 GOE, so the max is 3 points of GOE. The choreo rhythm dance is similar, except the max score is 7. So, it's not percentage-based like other elements, but +1/+2 has a set point value that is then averaged between all of the judges to calculate the total GOE score.Dance GOE is applied differently to elements. Although I didn't know they could get 6 as I understand it, the GOE is added directly rather than as a percentage of what the element is worth (like in the other disciplines).
So you can get more GOE than the element is actually worth in ice dance.
