2023 World Figure Skating Championships Rhythm Dance

Dance GOE is applied differently to elements. Although I didn't know they could get 6 as I understand it, the GOE is added directly rather than as a percentage of what the element is worth (like in the other disciplines).

So you can get more GOE than the element is actually worth in ice dance.

And wow! Into first! :love2:

Can Lilah and Lewis do better?!
Specifically, choreo elements in dance (and singles/pairs) is applied differently. In the singles/pairs choreo sequence, a +1 mark from the judges equates to .5 GOE, so the max is 3 points of GOE. The choreo rhythm dance is similar, except the max score is 7. So, it's not percentage-based like other elements, but +1/+2 has a set point value that is then averaged between all of the judges to calculate the total GOE score.

Well, a judge commentating before seeing the scores "They will go to the lead because of their technical skills".
You mean your commentator? Or like an actual judge at the rink! They said the quiet part loud in that case!

But I love Marco and Charlene so I'm super happy for them :) but no idea if the judging was fair or not!

Our commentaror, Mika Saarelainen, the highest level judge in the world.

It is SUPPOSED to be the technical program, though—where teams with better technical skills should shine.

(Yes, I know, that’s the theory—sometimes the reality does not match up.)
Whoa there, I am not opposed to G/F winning the RD!!

Thank you for the explanation :)

How confusing though! Like...woe to us who don't know how to maths!

Alright let's put on our red shoes and dance the blues!
