Well, how did last weekend go? Did you manage to catch Damiano David and nail him down?

Seriously, after seeing him in attendence on Saturday, I was amazed that Måneskin were not performing the national anthem on Sunday. You'll never guess who was doing it though.

Yeah, it was Il Volo again.

You'd think there were no other singers in Italy! And their performance this time wasn't as good as the last time they were doing it for the MotoGP.

Mind you, it was better than we got in the Netherlands. They managed to bag Andre Rieu. Except, he was not actually playing the anthem. He was just standing there holding his violin in one hand, and conducting the choir with the other hand.

I dread to imagine what they were paying him to do that!

And that fog is worrying, both for what it says about conditions (and the ice) and what it might do to the ice...

The skaters may feel like they are skating on a curling sheet.

Wow! Sorry if I'm distracted. There is a bird of prey sitting on our clothes line at the moment. A sparrowhark or a kestrel or something. I don't have a clear enough view from the sitting room.

I'm guessing some skaters here will be much more used to fog than others Rena, for example, seems to be unimpressed.

I remember some great photos from a Japanese competition somewhat recently where the men were just completely drenched from the fog

Well, that doesn't surprise me. I never took to him. There is just something about his attitude that I don't like.

But, I'm sure the organisers paid a fortune to have him there. So, you'd have expected him to at least play the anthem!

I just feel sorry for the skaters that have to follow her. They have a lot to live up to.
