2023 JGP Istanbul Women's Short Program

Mark, well matched skaters pushing each other on is exactly what Turkey had for a long number of years.

There was a group of skaters (including Sıla) that were always fighting over the top positions and slots. And Sinem Kuyucu always seemed to end up as the one that missed out. Until the others retired, and she was the last of the old guard standing. So she dominated for a few years. Eventually she retired, and this new generation started coming through.

i have to thank the global warming for this. July was hell

And I'm sure having a volcano nearby didn't help. (Actually, does it have an influence on temperatures? Or is it just one of those many assumptions I have that is completely wrong?)

We have just today entered a heatwave in NI. But, a heatwave here is defined as 3 days where temperatures are over 25°C. So, I'm sure you would find that perfectly mild in comparison to what you have been dealing with.

Hope you managed alright last week with the long drive to the wedding. And I hope you had somwehre to stay, and didn't have to actually travel in your costume. Because I dread to imagine what state it would have been in if you did!
