It's unique and it fits her character somehow

I don't think Rinka's programs are working well for her this year. She's so sassy and has such a bright personality, and I don't know that these work for her, especially the FS.

Okay, well, I like the beginning and end music there (November is such a gorgeous song), but, um... those cuts are... not great. Commentator is explaining the meaning, but if he hadn't, I'd have absolutely no idea what that was about.

My, the memories of Kostornaia in this music...

A good skate and program, but I have the previous girl as my favourite still. Mostly because although this girl is quite artistic, shes just a bit more banal and familiar than the last.

But she is definitely no worse as a pure skater than the last girl, despite the miss-hap.

I saw in the other thread someone said the Canadian girls aren't good - nonsense! This girl is a very high level skater!!!

Canadian skaters are good. The issue with them is that they do not get much opportunity to compete. Without that, they lack confidence, and then, consistency. Glad you liked Madeline. Surprised you didn't know her from before. She was really impressive in the previous olympic games team event.

There's this strangely mesmerizing quality to Rinka...that calmness, that flow, that quiet confidence...not perfect but still beautiful in my eyes

Better than her short, but she's not at her best at the moment. I'm not sure the costume is working because it is making it look like she is hunching her shoulders. She might need to look at that, because I'm wondering whether the impact on her lines could affect her presentation score from some judges.

The costume is cool, but the neck part makes her posture look weird (when her posture is actually fine).

I…don’t like Watanabe’s dress. I’m also not sure about the program, especially the first half. But I feel that it’s better than what she was doing last year. This was a good skate for her. The best she’s skated all season.

I'm just now starting to branch out more in watching international - mostly because I've seen absolutely everything in Russia. So, some of these girls you guys have loved I'm not well acquainted with.

But, so far, I'm REALLY impressed by them. Much better than the short program, by the way. They went up a level over night certainly.
