2023 Skate Canada Women's Free Skate

Well, evidently this was a clean skate. Minimal issues, but the judges are probably going to reassess her score here a little. Shes a good skater and a good athlete. Her flexibility especially I like - the extension and her Ina Bauer (I bet it'd be beautiful to see her get the chance to hold that in an exhibition program).

Now is this just me, or she seemed quite disconnected from her choreo? At least for the former majority of the program - she did seem to gain some momentum towards the end... Seems like lots of girls in this sport struggle to start off with the full expression and need that momentum. I guess thats what separates most skaters from those who are closer to inherent artists.

Sadly another injury recovery. Heart surgery this summer. Second one she's had. Not making excuses - Starr is a very charming performer but never really known as a strong technician, etc., but that would affect endurance, of course. Note I'm very pro weight training, etc. Just providing background.
I'm sure she will work on her conditioning.
