2023-2024 Russian Nationals Jumping Championships

The only reason they put these girls in dresses...are not for any good reason.
I think some of these girls just like wearing dresses and feeling pretty for "special occasions". And especially the older girls like Mura and Adeliia are very likely the ones who choose what they wear.

What's problematic is some of the dresses they are allowed/forced to wear. A 12-year-old doesn't need to wear the same type of dress as a 22-year-old, unless that 22-year-old dresses quite conservatively & "young".

Well, normal dresses are fine. I think the point is just that dresses look nice for show and the girls definitely like them so why not? Dont really need an excuse. But its just the aesthetic they give the younger girls, not just dresses but also the makeup etc... its always weird, program or not. Theres never any excuse for that but its a separate issue.
No, the whole fact that women have to go on ice in swimsuits to compete is all wrong and for all the wrong reason. Comfortable athletic clothes is what is called for. It's no brainer, but FS is too conservative to stop this horrid practice. Moreover, when they compete in...jumps.

Tarasova is so cringe, international events are in her head rent free. She cant stop crying about it every time one of the best is on screen.

Its so much more effective to just stay quiet and take the uncaring disposition. Gives off a significantly stronger atmosphere of actual superiority. Which is what everybody else does. But she just cant keep her mouth shut and brings us down so hard. So stupid.

Yeah, it's annoying. But anything out of her mouth is annoying.

Have you ever been a figure skater? Little girls and adult women alike usually like to dress up for their competitions. The rhinestones, the dresses, makeup, hair. It's like saying a ballerina doesn't want a costume and should just wear her training leotard to a performance.

While I wish there was a way to invisibly wrap myself in bubble wrap for falls, I very much want to wear the dress because it's PRETTY and makes me feel like an ice princess.

What swim suits? Almost all of the dresses are beautiful and modest. You think the girls dont like them? Calling dresses a horrid practice is actually hilarious. I think even another site would laugh that one out of the room.

I love Mura, but I wouldn't quite go that far, not with Midori Ito's, Rika Kihira's and Aliona Kostornaia's banger 3As also existing. Certainly one of the best for sure, though.
Murav'eva is fantastic though in her programs, along with her 3A. Lovely package.

Are not even one of these girls sponsored by a sport brand. No Nike, Puma, Adidas or some Russian brand training outfits?
Why do they have dresses even?

Nobody has to go out onto the ice in a "swimsuit", they can wear pants and pantsuits, or longer dresses if they want. They can choose any fabric they want and how much "decoration" they want.

In my experience, a lot of young girls (and even some boys) chose skating (and other aesthetic sports like rhythmic gymnastics or ballet) because of the sparkles, the dresses, the aesthetics. It shouldn't be expected, no, and it should be age-appropriate, but they're also just regular kids who might or might not like pretty, shiny things and flowing fabrics.

The day I start caring about what someone on another site or Twitter thinks...lol. I want athletic attire in an athletic competition.
