They did it when they were obvious favorites. Chen is very much the Sensible Dress Champion, but men actually do have better choices than women. If Trusova continued to compete and become influential in sport, that would have been great. But her legacy is a bit dicey, unfortunately, with so many of her achievements being dismissed in favor of the conservatie ideas and not rocking the boat. I am waiting for someone to bring that point home and start the adoption of more athletic oriented, ice arena suitable competing outfits. Like, something that can be laundered between competitions, and what they can go to the bathroom in and not catch another pneumonia etc.Was Trusova underscored when she wore a dress+pants combo for her Kill Bill program? Or Valieva for wearing longer dresses in her SP? Was Nathan Chen underscored for wearing the most Walmart-like shirts for most of his Senior career?

Most dont, the point is that they arent sexualizing themselves and the dresses have nothing to do with it. People sexualize firefighters who wear 60lbs of clothes or even medieval knights with full steel armour!!

Why do transgender people live rent-free in your head? There's literally one singular transgender person competing internationally in skating, and she's very far from competitive.
(And there's a lot of testing (medically & psychologically) involved in a trans person even being allowed to compete in Women's sports, nobody can just decide to do that "because they want to"

There are costumes that make the intention very clear. Some skaters want to be sexualized. There is nothing wrong as long as the skater is old enough and that it suits the program.
