2023-2024 Russian Nationals Jumping Championships

Russian nats gold medal.
Apart from politics. I am interested in actual points because I want to know what I am not picking up visually. Popov was getting 2s on every jump for 2 days. And he actually does seem to have soft(er) knees.

Nooope. It only counts in the same competition with the same judging panel. Everything else is speculation. It's the same as go on warm up results. There is plenty of surprise resolutions of the match-ups in actual competitions. That's the value of the GP series.
Nope. That's just intellectual dishonesty. Luck doesn't make someone better.
I already know how i'll roll my eyes when people will say "X is a better skater or has a better career because of many titles while Y doesn't". Knowing that Y have nothing because he/she didn't have the same luck, wasn't competing. Not because Y is worse.

It's really a mystery to me. I hope we get an answer 🤷‍♀️

I think the GOE were simply a bit wild here. But I'm not sure it mattered much in the end and it's not a real competition imo but a show.

Uhm, that's not luck. FS has a random factor, for sure, and a huge subjective factor, but in the end it's competition results. Otherwise, we won't all be rooting for our favorites to win and feel happy when they do.

Yes, cyberbullies say that Valieva may leave the sport never winning a major title, but she is about to miss three world championships in a row, missed the last two European championships, missed the last three GP finals. All through no fault of her own.

I know, but still...wild as in wild for everyone, or was Popov's realistic while Semeneko's from fantasy la-la-land or does Semenenko actually jumps better than Popov? It is something that a jumping tournament really focuses on, the quality of the jump.

It's not like she tested positive for a forbidden substance or anything...

Aliev is semi-retired?
In my mind, yes. I know he was good on RusNat, but all his interests are now centered in the realm of Plushenko's ice shows. I'm not blaming him for that, not in any way, but he's heading in the same direction as Lisa and Misha.

I have an unexpected question. If there is a pandemic again, for which we are being actively prepared, and all Grand Prix competitions are canceled, as well as all championships, except national championships, how will we know who is the best?

Luck of being from a country that is not banned.
Luck of being from a country that deserves to be banned but isn't.
Sure, Russia makes transfers difficult, but where is the will, there is a way.

We will wait until competitions can be carried out safely, either without audience or with. Just like what happened during the pandemic.

It was a trace amount of a common medication in Russia that according to experts provides no athletic benefit. We will find out by February 14 what happened, and if she is a horrible person that took it intentionally, then I hope you can find it within yourself to forgive a child who was 15 at the time. Have some compassion for her and everything she has been through for 2 years. You wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy.

Uh, what? He only had side characters. In these shows there were also Semenenko, Ignatov, Muravieva, Frolova, Sinitsyna, a bunch of AoP juniors. All of them are semi-retired???

Right.
Which one you mean? There are a lot of candidates.

Sometimes the worldwide situation reminds me of the Finland scene from Iron Sky:
