2024 World Championships Rhythm Dance

I think there are two teams of announcers at worlds because at times we hear PJ Kwong with a male announcer (francophone) and the other times I felt we heard a woman announcer that wasn't PJ Kowng (francophone with a male announcer, anglophone) But maybe my brain is messing up with me.
If that's true then I have serious gripes with the anglophone male announcer, like... ask your francophone colleague how to pronounce a French name maybe?

I have no idea though... I just felt that at one point it was no longer PJ last night... and the male announcer was butchering names even in French so... there's that.

We had a discussion about Loucas with a O the other day... and Trennt with two Ns

Just so people know.. Loucas in French is not the same as Lucas (also in French). (Trennt or Trent would be pronounced the same).

Loucas Is more like LEWKA. Lucas in French is pronounced differently : with another sound anglophones don't have (the ü )

Obviously, the S remains silent in French. So Loucas Éthier wouldn't be pronounced at all the same way as Lucas in English or Lukas in German nor Lucas in French ;)

That's a Polish dish - we call it gołąbki / which means little pigeons. голуб/holub in Ukrainian means a pigeon.
I am both Polish & Ukranian in heritage. We used both names.

I don't call myself an actual French speaker but I did take three years of high school French, and fun fact: the Korean vowel ㅟ is now almost universally pronounced /wi/ but historically (and still with some older speakers) it had the same sound as the French u!

Punsalan & Swallow made it famous in 1991

I remember their last season, it was my first ... from which I recall watching figure skating, they had a beautiful tango Free Dance in Nagano. I was very, very small and I watched Nagano Olympics with my mom. I also remembered vividly among other things ... Marta Andrade's red dress and her three splats out of which one was quite spectacular. Then years after as an adult I typed in Marta Andrade Nagano 1998 into YT and it turned out to my delight that those memories were all factual and eerily accurate (as we grow older our old memories ... evolve and our brains fill in the gaps with some BS but not here.) I also remembered being most impressed by Anissina/Peizerat in ID and 4-years old me was not quite computing why they did not win Olympic Gold Medal!:drama:
