2024 World Championships Men's Free Skate

The only downside to this great event is Selevko placing 11th. I know he wanted to get a second spot for Estonia, but that was always going to be very difficult. I hope he’s not kicking himself too much over the missed combo. He should be proud regardless. This was a big moment for him and it showed that Europeans wasn’t a one-off. He’s had a good season.
I was hoping that top 10 would happen for Alexander, but -- all things considered -- 11th place was a good result. He had two competitions after Euros: one was a complete disaster, and the other was similar to Worlds. So, it was a good result overall. His score in Montreal was his second best this season, so he should be proud. IIRC, this is the highest placement EST achieved in the men's event.

EST men will have one more chance to earn the second Olympics ticket, at the 2025 Worlds. It will be tougher going, but there's still a chance.

I am still dizzy! But I will post when I can think. We had three super exciting days, the stadium was fantastic and every day we had multiple high and stirring moments!
Glad the Montreal curse for you is apparently over ;). I knew this would happen because I know my town and my people .. and of course, worlds are worlds

Medals are not given yet. Others must skate too.
And so I jinxed the others to push Adam to medal after writing this after Adam's skate

I watched two first groups live and just finished to watch the rest.

Sorry for some skaters but happy especially for Lukas, Yuma, Deniss, Donovan, Aleksandr and some others who skated clean or got they PBs and were happy. Good competition overall. Skating clean was the word of the competition.

Latvia needs another male skater, is there still any?

as far as know-no, there is not yet international calibra skater

OMG, I jokingly said in group 1 that we could stop the competition because no one was going to touch Adam's technical score. I then had to leave home for another event and couldn't watch any skating for six hours. Just came back home, and boy, was I wrong!!! What an astonishing skate by Ilia. Wow!!! The crazy thing is that this isn't even the limit for him. I'm just in awe.

And Adam maintained his position for bronze! Hahahaha, wow!!!

What am I seeing? Did everyone in the top 10 except Ilia, Jason, Lukas and Deniss have at least one fall? Yikes

:eek2:
Yep that was right. This was the main reason Adam jumped from 19th to 3rd tonight. I was stunned with all of the falls, this usually does not happen at the world Championships. I was surprised at almost every skater fell but slightly realivied because I thought that Ilia was going have a rough free skate so I was hopeful that he could hold on for bronze. I was happily stunned when Ilia had the skate of his life tonight. He earned that gold medal and I hope that he is happy now with all pressure off his back now..

And Jason also popped one axel; it would not have been enough for medal anyway, but costed 7,59 points and would have been just 4th over Shoma if we look only base values. Ifs are ifs anyway.
