Skating really helps with surnames because I know what the names are going in, so if I see one kanji that I know, I can probably think of a skater whose name contains that sound and figure it out - "oh, this is the kanji for no, so that must be ko," etc etc, but it takes a lot of backpedaling.

Then again, I have had many Japanese friends tell me that they occasionally have no idea what someone's name is until they ask for this reason ...

I think this sound quality is very bad for percussion-heavy music because it's already so tinny that it makes it all sound like clanging...

Quite a bit of the music has been bad and the sound worse, which probably makes even a good program feel more boring. And... what the hell is this noise? {grabs for the mute}

I've just always thought Umbrellas was really beautiful music? Can't say why, have thought so since I first heard it at...I dunno, eleven or twelve? It just scratches an itch in my brain.

I like conventionally "pretty" music, I guess. #basiclife
