2024 Finlandia Trophy Free Dance

I'm sorry, but Emilea saying that she always wanted a flower crown post-FD and now posting on her IG stories photo of her still in the crown in a bus from the arena with caption "never taking this thing off" just made me cry while at the hotel.
I've honestly never expected my poor crafting making skaters feel so loved and appreciated, but here I am. It was so worth to go, to be active today and make so many smiles, even from Piper and Paul, calling me by Mt real name and thanking me for coming to support them. The surprise on Yuka and Juho's faces, them making it work to stretch that damn cardboard to put them onto their heads...

I'm just so so so grateful that I made it all happen. As I say, if it makes one smile, it's worth to do.
Your flower crowns are very beautiful and it’s a really wonderful gesture to give these hard working, talented athletes “their flowers”. Compared to many other professional sports athletes, these skaters don’t reap the lucrative endorsements or widespread public attention to make them household names and they really are doing this for the love of their sport and you can tell they really appreciate all the fan support they receive. It’s sweet to see how much these crowns mean to them, so thank you! :)

If they stop making mistakes.

And that's more than a tad mean spirited, I mean it's one thing to hope your teams do well but offering someone coming last as a cheering thought....?
I am not at all mean spirited here. I am simply saying that Fear and Gibson received two victories because others made mistakes and considering how well Lopareva-Brissaud and potentially LaLa are skating right now, it could be a very strange case, for ice dance, because it's not unseen in other disciplines, where the top qualifiers end up in last place (at GPF). I am not cheering for anyone here. I am not hoping for anyone to make mistakes. I am simply observing a very strange affair in how the GP season unfolded.

I was glad to see that you were able to get those beautiful crowns to your beloveds Piper & Paul, I’m sure that was comforting to them in the difficult situation they found themselves in.

I figured it was not possible to get crowns to any of the singles, so excluding them, I was delighted to see that we agreed on five of my ten! (They were: Rebecca Ghilardi (I had Filippo also), birthday girl Kelly Ann Laurin (I had Loucas also), Deanna & Max, and Emily Chan (I had Spencer also.)

I have to wonder if the strictness of the judging panel at this event may have spooked Piper and Paul. Lilah and Lewis who skated before them with no major mistakes only managed a 121 FD, which is the lowest they’ve scored all season. The exclamation on the choreo assisted jump for Gilles/Poirier is curious; I hope their team was able to consult the panel and get an explanation for that to correct it for the future.

I really doubt Piper and Paul were watching or thinking about the scores from the team below. Have seen many interviews with top teams where they explicitly say they tune out that out, or would be even aware of what would be a "low score" for Lilah and Lewis. Everyone has an off day and a fluke fall, which seems to have happened to Piper and Paul. I also think they are amazing professionals who have been doing this a long time and seen strict panels before (they have been historically underscored), so doubt that would have phased them.

I looked at Yuka and Juho. I think Maurizio or Neil told them to keep hats on the table and put the hats on at the moment camera catches them again as they did and it was fun.

I agree - the crowns are gorgeous, and @NoNameFace has clearly put so much thought selecting the colours of the crepe-paper and the ribbons in order to coordinate with/set off the skaters' costumes. They are beautifully made, and must be fabulous to receive.
