2024-25 Senior Grand Prix Final Free Dance

waiting room music
maybe they are trying to pay less for their music right license. elevator/waiting room music is the most basic and cheapest license to get.

I see some people think I was referring to the Jazz selection of CB. Nope. I actually enjoyed that. I was referring to the Italian's robotic non-music.

Very pretty people event with actual competition happening. Don't know enough to talk any scoring, but my fav programs were La/La and Lopareva/Brissaud. I tuned out on C/B because of the music. I saw someone said elevator music and yeah, it sort of gives that vibe of 'please stay on the line' easy listening. For all the many cuts in their rhythm dance it is more energetic. Brits were the same way tbh.

i just had haskap berries in straciatella greek yoghurt. so i no longer care about the results...

cannot control the skating, can control what i eat ;)

I'm not a fan of jazz, so as much as I'd like to, I really don't enjoy Maddie and Evan as much as I should. Of course, I realize the judging criteria doesn't include consideration of my personal music preferences. This is a weakness in the system, but what can we do.

That said, the margin of victory is a definite statement.

I have to say I liked the Italians more than I did when they wore the silver. I usually don't care about costuming, so I can't help wondering if they're impacting my perceptions.

As far as the free dance goes, LaLa should have beaten both the Brits AND the Italians. And honestly, it's shameful that they only barely sneak past P/P in the total score.

I love that Madi and Evan were secure enough to take on complicated and iconic jazz pieces such as Round Midnight and Take Five. (with of course its unusual signature meter).

The most daring program of the comp, IMO, (yes I said that :) ) and so well skated. Kudos to them!

I am starting to get the feeling that G/P is going to be passed over on the waiting list for the top duo.
LaLa and L/B are going to pass the Brits very soon. I think Piper and Paul are okay if they skate clean. They will not win in Boston if CB are clean... but they shouldn't be off the podium. G/F are the ones who need to be fearing the younglings (well Lewis is 30 so he is no longer that young) coming at their back. Their robots are not good enough as the scoring here showed.

Seeing LaLa, the Brits and the Italians all within 122 is very revealing. LaLa beat both of them on TES.

I really enjoyed their program, but then again I like jazzy stuff. I understand the comments saying jazzy stuff can be "elevator-ish" to some people, but I don't think this is at all. Maybe I was just dazzled by Madi's amazing costume LOL Actually I did think they did a great job.

But...to me the most daring was the French, which I just loved.
