<<, <, <, <, < - Without a single fall or step-out

That's all we need at this point. Even without the Russians, we need to step it up if we're going to stay an elite country. But, that's theoretical. US will get 2 spots.
It looks good for States. Von Felten just needs repThat's all we need at this point. Even without the Russians, we need to step it up if going to stay an elite country.

Favouritism already tarnishes the sport and its reputation. She's am amazing talent but she is at the same time only one among hundreds of juniors, and the new rules were made to protect them.Tell me again how the sport is better by being Junior next season instead of being in Milan. This is no 15 year old she's just months away from turning 17.
Von Felten? More info if you have itIt looks good for States. Von Felten just needs rep
It's apparently out of "concern" that Junior women would be atttempting evil 3A's and quads and risk harm for their frail bodies, or some such BS. So, in other words, what they say and what they do (award three straight years a junior child who lands 3A's and quads) are not quite the same.Tell me again how the sport is better by being Junior next season instead of being in Milan. I would say those calls were deserved , her jumps were under, but I'm surprised how inconsistent the calling was. The top 3 all had > or Q's that were not called. Several other skaters with noticeably small jumps also got favorable calling while the technical panel was very harsh on others. It wasn't linked to nationality as different skaters from the same country got noticeably different treatment.. I'm going to assume it was an angle issue or maybe the technical panel just didn't review the jumps because they looked fine in real-time. Once again, I think the technical panel needs better equipment and access to more camera angles..My god, I just checked the protocols and I swear Kaoruko got the most amount of rotation calls I've ever seen in my years of watching skating

I mean, seriously. Yes some of the unders are obvious, but that many really? They even q-ed both her 2Ts.....
Like compared to other skaters, feels like many of them got benefit of the doubt, but not Kaoruko![]()

Yes. If it's truly sustainable technique then she's not going to lose it when she hits seniors, so why worry?Reminder that it is not the normal trajectory of a healthy sport for women to peak at 15-17 and then retire. That actually is the sign of a toxic endeavor. Imagine us breaking down ballerinas at that age--there would be outrage. Missing an Olympics at 16 or even 17 should be completely fine as women are stronger in their 20s. Simone Biles went to her first Olympics at 19. After all of the young champions in figure skating, I'm completely in favor of moving the sport in the direction of grown women competing at the Olympics. Mao will be fine. Her skating should be even more mature and impactful in 2030.
