Nothing really shocks me with those scores considering Worlds is in Boston

No, it's not their fault at all. It's important to remember these teams are not scoring themselves so anger needs to be directed at those responsible, the judges.C/B probably don't care but I'm really starting to feel resentment towards them with how they're being ridiculously favored by the judges. It's not necessary their fault, but I used to like them and now I just want to see them taken down a peg...bah.
P/P could skate Tessa and Scott level and they still would get lower scores than C/B.
I think she knows more than Chris does.“Their depth of edge is improving.” KMT, you may not know much about ice dance, but I love you for that one
Yes they were that much better than Piper and Paul, as beloved as P squared are.You did see that Piper and Paul also got an element over 6 points?I saw it to, was indeed +6.64, but I didn’t know could go more than +5.5
It was Nebelhorn for a very long time (though it hasn't always been), but technically, it wasn't supposed to always be the Nebelhorn Trophy. Every single document about the Olympic qualification system was just like "a selected international competition" but apparently nobody else was interested in hosting the qualifying event or the ISU was taking the easy way out by giving it to the same country each timeAlso the Qualifying event is in China? Is it usually Nebelhorn?
Super glad you like them, and I will agree that they really sell the programs, and Madison doesn't hit a bad position. But do you care to elaborate and justify why you think their edges are better? How so? I typically see shallow or edges and a lot less speed although they are certainly crisp with a lot of their skating. Certainly don't see a ton of ice coverage most of the time ... however, I will say that I was less frustrated with their first place position this time because I don't really think Paul and Piper grabbed the opportunity and I felt that they were kind of flat todayOK I do this every time in the Dance comments, so why stop now?
Madi and Evan were Ah-MAZ-ing. Edges, skating, performance, speed.Yes they were that much better than Piper and Paul, as beloved as P squared are.
I said what I said![]()
To my eye with the camera angles, Charlene had the best outside mohawk of the final group, and Marcos rocker at the end was clean. The other two turns were maybe iffy (Charlene's bracket looked fairly decent but didn't pay much attention), but previous skaters got higher levels with much worse. I'd have given level 1 only if the outside mohawk wasn't counted, and by that judgement nobody today would have level 4. Otherwise, should have been at least 2. If given the leniency of the 3 teams ahead, I'd have said level 3 Pst (also not ignoring that Paul's foot was shaking/vibrating on his counter exits today)The tech panel was quite strict with Marco and Charlene, which was fair at least in the twizzles part, Marco clearly struggled there, not sure about them getting only level 1 for the pattern.
It’s not their fault if they’re overscored though.I feel the exact same way. I used to be a big fan of C/B, but I have grown to resent them the last 3 seasons due to the constant overscoring.
Indeed and I seem to recall a time when apparently the Russians were the only ones accused of outrageous home-cooking...Nothing really shocks me with those scores considering Worlds is in Boston
Once again- the women’s SP had no American judge on the panel. The technical callers were two Europeans and a Canadian.Yeah I agree their lead is very generous. There's definitely been some home cooking here, I admit in the women's event too with Alysas lead (as much as I am a Liunatic)
I know what the actual -?The tech panel was quite strict with Marco and Charlene, which was fair at least in the twizzles part, Marco clearly struggled there, not sure about them getting only level 1 for the pattern.
I guess I may lean to conspiracy theory - they need to make a margin for FD in case C/B do something wrong and other teams won't do anything wrong. To my eye with the camera angles, Charlene had the best outside mohawk of the final group, and Marcos rocker at the end was clean. The other two turns were maybe iffy (Charlene's bracket looked fairly decent but didn't pay much attention), but previous skaters got higher levels with much worse. Twizzles were an issue and I guess rightfully called, midline wasn't the cleanest from them. But other people had bad turns in midline and again higher levels. Selective harshness.
I know, right? According to the people here the Canadians were going to get hosed, and yet here they sit very comfortably in second.I can feel the weight of the haters every time my team skates and want to cry even before they skate.
I don't think I can watch dance here anymore with you folks if that is how I feel after.
I will not be joining you for the free dance. I'll watch by myself in peace and quiet.
Random medley of random things with random choreo to pack elements we are supposed to watch in awe. They are kidding but it isn't funny at all. At least we get to see tango. We don't get to see the marionettes and I may start crying. This is my composed and calm self for today...Judge nr. 1 gave 10 in composition for C/B![]()
