Yes, I will complain about scores. Regardless of whether or not calls would have changed the results of this competition, it is a disgrace for the sport to have unequal standards for skaters, especially at an event like the World Championships.
If they can do it at a GP and Jr Worlds, they can do it at Sr Worlds too.

They didn't really 'do it' at Jr Worlds though, nobody's jumps got called other than Kaoruko's

You know, I’m sitting here just reminiscing how the USFSA basically dumped Alysa Liu at the Nationals going into the last Olympics and she was picked over for the team event in favor of Karen Chen, who didn’t skate well in either portion, thus missing out on a team Olympic medal. However, Alysa got her revenge by winning a bronze medal at that year’s World Championships and now this result. The greatest revenge is success.

Alysa wasn't dumped at Nationals, she had Covid. And as for whether Alysa was picked over for the team event? Possibly not, as she was in the higher priority group and thus likely asked before Mariah or Karen, so it's equally as probable she declined the team event, considering she was recovering from Covid.

Making the Olympic team is gonna be a BLOODBATH

I think the US team is actually one of the simpler ones. Levito + Liu + either Glenn or Tennel. The US Fed have never really seemed to like Sarah Everhardt and she is coached by Ilia's mam, who he doesn't like to go to competitions. Elyce-Lin Gracey isn't ready yet. She has a tendency to freeze at major events and underperform.

Some of the other Feds have much tougher choices to make with Olympic selections.

They did it for almost all of the skaters (Stefania, Ami, Inga, ...), but yeah, even there, the top 3 skaters got away with unequal treatment, you're right.

It kind of feels worse here, though, because everyone who profited is really from one country. I know, it's not less unfair if it's just "seniority bonus" but that's at least explainable subconsciously, while this is not really. Especially not with Kaori getting calls, who, out of anyone, you'd expect to be getting some of the most lenient judging based on reputation. Clearly the tech panel wasn't swayed by something like that, so why by the country?

Look, everyone knew going into this Boston Worlds that the American contenders' scores in the three disciplines were going to be seriously home cooked, and it's proving just that, so let's roll with it. I like Alysa (and C/B) and am therefore not at all discontent especially given that she's a lovely skater with a lovely backstory and can if handled right make a decent splash media-wise. Maybe even taking some of that cooking to Milan next year. But...

USA doing well = great for the world of skating.

A year ago, Alysa's return to skating was a pipe dream, and to be honest, I wasn't buying it.

A month or so ago, Alysa finishes off the podium behind two other not-world-team Americans at a 4CC with a much weaker field.

Now she's World Champion.

Alysa was coming on strong if you watched her for the full season she was regaining her stamina and if not for a botched spin might have won Nationals and doubled a salchow which she can do in her sleep that barely kept her off the podium by about 1.55 points at 4CC.

What a great night of skating! It really turned around! When the first 2 groups had performances marred by mistakes, I thought rinky the rink monster was gonna pop up. But then group 3 began and my nerves got more so on edge. It was so tense, wondering where everyone would end up. I must say tho, wakaba deserved 4th place at the least. Just my opinion. I think the tech caller refused to see isabeau's lutz edges (if you just call it an "!" instead of an "e", does your GOE go down?). And isabeau was great too, I just could feel strings being pulled to keep isabeau ahead of wakaba.
