I just looked it up to find out if this is a cover of the song by the Beatles, because I hadn't come across the name Gary Clark Junior before. And it is.
Gary's version is probably the "rockiest" version I have heard of the song. And that would normally result in it getting a big thumbs up from me. But, I don't know why, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. So I started listening to other famous covers of the song. First Aerosmith's version, and I wasn't fussed on it either. It wasn't as "rocky" as I would have expected from them. And Ike & Tina Turner's version felt rather flat by Tina's standards.
No, I think this is a case where you can't beat the Beatles' original version.
But, I'm looking forward to seeing what my kids do with the song.
