2025 Skate Canada Men's Free Skate

Memola did well to change his programme and add the combos later without getting and reps. Interestingly, I find white really strange for a Scheherazade programme.

Ah yes, mine doesn't go for kibbles. But she does really enjoy the cat fountain and electrical cords, which is terrifying. We've babyproofed as much as we can but of course things still have to be plugged in, and she's lightning fast. We spend lots of time chasing her!
A lot of people say they get into more trouble once they start to walk, but that wasn't my experience. Once they can crawl and pull up, walking doesn't add anything. It actually slows them down a bit, like a skater adding a new difficult element.

Memola looks so handsome today!!
He really has fought for the the second Italian spot. He is my choice for that spot. I also love having someone so tall landing 4Lz’s

FYI
Gogolev has had a major back injury. So no, pairs are not a viable option.

I also find it reductive to put all tall skaters in the "should be a pairs skater" as if height was the only thing needed to be a good pairs partner.
It's a different type of skillset and training.
Agreed. When Nick went into pairs in canada, it made sense, because he always had a very solid, muscular build, even at the time he won his world silver as a teenager. Steven does not have the right build at all. And the back issue just confirms that it's not really in the cards for him

I've been reading lots of motivational quotes and affirmations so I can relate to Ilia's program today. This one resonated with me:
  • I am made for this. Sitting at home looking ugly in my PJ’s.
Uh, that's a demotivational quote, not a motivational one...

Of course I’m rooting for my fiancé but I expect them to send Torgashev even though he has a history of blowing up in big events.
Yeah, I like Torgashev, Naumov, Ma, Hiwatchi, and Sanchez - but I think Torgashev most likely. But definitely understand about melting down.

Yeah, crawling has been IT for my older daughter and now the new baby. They've both kept us on our toes!

Now the older daughter is sitting watching skating and expressing huge amounts of disappointment when there's a red score mark on the screen. "Ohhhhhh, he didn't do a great job." Lol. Fingers crossed for all the rest of them!
