2025-26 Quebec Sectionals Jr/Sr | Nov 6-9

Fée Ann Landry SP

Huge double axel to start
Fall on triple salchow ( I think she is aiming for 3s-3t)
Flying sit 4
3f... realized she needed to combo, 3 turn, 2toe
Combo spin 2
Steps 2
Layback 3

She's not to thrilled but not too angry lol

50.17. She was in third place. I didn't rewind further because I need to eat... but I suspect Justine is one of the two skaters ahead of her...
Has she ever landed the 3S 3T?
I think she should consider a triple double instead for Challenge/Nationals just to score higher on this segment

Senior Women SP scores so far (of the top skaters)

Julianne Lussier 60.66
Marie-Raphaele Savoie 58.19
Justine Miclette 58.03
Fee Ann Landry 50.17
Nour Houda-Foura 47.22
Camille Perreault 46.63

To come- Bouchard, Pomerleau, A Volkova, and D'Amour
Great skates by the top 3 so far 👏
Key is if they can skate similarly in the free skate portion

my guess is that this combo is so random that it's the only one that works for her... and it probably does in training..
let's put it this way, most women who don't have the flip-lutz combos do the toe-toe... so for her to do the salchow, ii am guessing it's the only one that works well.

her jumps are very high... and for combos, I think the first jump needs to be longer rather than higher. I can see the salchow being worked into a more horizontal trajectory for her to allow a high toe loop on the back end. If you rewind the video, you will see how difficult if would be for her to do a triple toe after the flip... she had to take time just for the double. the flip is big.

Is it only top 8 plus bye (SMD)?
But, with Sandrine Blais getting a bye, it is reduced only top 7 that makes it to Challenge?
That is Marie-France spot with 49.76 in 7th.

Making it through Quebec Sectionals may be tougher than making it to Nationals (top 14). Wow!!

Just like last year. Some skaters from Quebec didn't make Challenge but would have placed better than some of the skaters who actually were able to go to Challenge from other provinces.

Skate Canada needs to fix this. It's not a random crop ... Figure skating is popular in Quebec for women and dance.... and a bit in pairs of course. And not popular at all with men. I think Quebec has only one ever National senior man champion in history (Sébastien Britten)

So take away a few spots from other provinces in women and give them to Quebec. I am fine surrendering a couple spots if men if needed. I mean we had 3 entries, which became 2... and the 3rd entry is someone I have never ever heard of.

It's top 8. Sandrine and SMD don't count towards the quota, so Quebec will have 9 entries at Challenge.

Ok. So, top 8 (one more spot)

So, doesn’t that mean Quebec will have 10 entries at Challenge not 9?

Top 8 here + Sandrine + SMD = 10

damn it...

Eddy popped the salchow into a double

then was doing well.... much better than usually

but he fell on the lutz at the end so he couldn't add his 2a to it.... at least, it was just one jump missing because he had done a 3feu3s already...

I think Anthony will take this despite my son landing two 3 axels.

SMD has a bye to Nationals, so she counts against the entries for Nationals. If she goes to Challenge, it's for getting a competition in.

She's at Warsaw Cup, so likely she won't be there.
Got it. Thanks for the explanation 🙏

210 for Eddy...
So close!!
What will be interesting…. Is seeing these boys compete domestically to surpass 219, in the upcoming seasons.

David B., Anthony and Eddy are so close. Hopefully, they will push each other in the next Olympic cycle and we will see all three of them join Grayson at International events.

with John Kim and Grayson... could be interesting indeed.

For our Quebec Junior Girls:

Camila Volkova is a bye and she is currently in 2nd place. There are 8 spots. So, is this also a top 9 scenario?
Top 8 plus CV going to Challenge
