2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 4 - Moscow

Adelia got 3's and 4's on everything I agree with it for the spins and step sequence, but the jumps like that lutz she barely gets off the ground, barely rotates, all 3's and one 4. The 2A had four 4's and the rest 3's :scratch2:.

Based on that 2A I've seen in four performances this season including test skates, there is zero possibility of a 3A returning, so I would say almost zero possibility of winning with just a couple of quads at most. The lutz continues to look like a dangerous jump for her where if she feels a little tight she going to underrotate or fall on it. Even the flip she really has to put everything into it.

I would be surprised if she continues after this season. Let's not forget this is in Moscow, so basically the easiest conditions she will ever skate waking up at home, having breakfast at home, no flights, etc.

Semenenko is up... sending support for Alex.

I believe Semenenko also got sick just before this tournament. Will be impressive if he is already in good shape.

I don't know if it is easier or more difficult for an athlete to know they aren't competing for gold (referring to the men's O event) and are hoping to skate clean and be in contention for a silver or bronze. Barring some unfortunate happenstance, Malinin has the OGM, but there's a real fight for silver and bronze and no clear contenders. So, I'm pulling for Gumennik to be one of them. Stay healthy and clean skates!

But she does get off the ground and does rotate? Oh, and her Lutz is actually a Lutz? Sounds like she could teach some certain skaters something if you understand. I don't see such a reality in certain other tournaments I skim. 😉 The combo was perfect. One of the best combos of the season aside from Gushchina the 3T couldn't be more textbook. Unbelievably fast entry. Utter confidence and follow-through.

If Skating91 doesn't claim URs and resorts to "barely rotated", you know the jumps were absolutely perfectly executed.

We can't all be Gushchina... and the rest makes up for it.

He's got the technical content, Misha is not the same skater this year (I don't think he'll podium).

You make some good points.

I am also deliriously happy that Yagudin is not there. The trio of commentators are a gold medal team!
