Adam was lucky to remain in front of Gogolev, this was quite messy, the PCS mark was pretty generous.

I always think Adam's PCS is too generous for what he does. But, that is the power of high TES and speed.

Of course, but not for every skater. Kagiyama isn't missing out on anything at all for skating imperfectly today. For others it's different.

For Kagiyama I am sure he would trade poor skates everywhere except Milan, for good skates at Milan. It's what I mean.

Don't worry, I knew what you were getting at. But, the way the start was worded made it sound like you were dismissing everything else in an Olympic season as unimportant. And I don't like people doing that. So, I decided to respond. Apart from anything else, to show that that was how it sounded.

I can’t remember the last time I saw Kagiyama skate a clean program. Sato may very well be poised to win Japan Nationals in December.

they will give him the same PCS as Roman which is not fair in my opinion, though he definitely should be the one on the podium

Gogo got 78 PCS and Roman got 81 - probably Roman should be higher, but at least there's a difference. Hope Roman will start getting higher PCS now that he's putting on clean(ish) skate

Anyway happy to see Gogo & Roman placing 3rd and 4th, congrats to Canada

I have a basic question. The british commentator on Peacock was saying that if you fall twice then you can't get over 8.75 on any PCS??

So, just because you fall twice your skating skills for the rest of the program are some how not as good??

Aarrgghh! More of a way to turn it into a jump competition?

two major errors cap your PCS indeed. I think it's fine and I don't like jumping competitions... in a way, it can be seen as preventing jumping competitions and promoting clean skates, with manageable jump content for skaters. .

I mean, more punishments for falls is exactly what you would want for skating to become less of a jumping competition.

Also, it's not just about falls, it's about "serious mistakes" in general. Your Peacock commentator didn't present the entire rule, just how it applies to the skater's situation. It makes sense. Such factors obviously affect the presentation of the program.

I LOVE Mihhail and Sasha and it’s a crime against this sport that both Selevko brothers can’t be at the Olympics. They both are such entertaining performers! It’s a real shame Mihhail’s tech content really unraveled from the middle to the latter part of his FS.
