2025-2026 French Figure Skating

The French really did great at Junior Worlds.

Do you know how many junior ice dance teams France has? They seem to be able to rival the US in terms of number and quality of the teams
I wish. No, I do not. There's just always a number of juniors and seniors who are just good, often with some nice suprise moves.

At the Coupe du Printemps in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg

in Sr Men Corentin Spinar was 7th with 153.94 points;
in Jr Men Daniel Verbat was 4th with 129.05 points.

Well done guys! :cheer: :cheer: :laugh3::hap10::hap10:

Nice weekend of skating for the French: 1st ( 🥇 ) and 6th in ID - so 3 spots next year at World's, 5th, 7th and 20th in men - so 3 spots again there, 18th in women - so there's still 1 spot, and 17th in pairs - so 1 spot remains in place.

It depends. She's 15 now (birthday 28 May, birth year 2010). She'll have to wait until she's 17, but then could stay on for a further year.
Ugh this stupid new senior age rule sucks, she could have easily helped France secure more spots as a senior.

Which French ice dancers will be competing in the 2026/2027 season? FBC(?), LB, DLM (I hope the split rumors are just rumors), LC, FF.
DN, KC — split.
Louise Bordet / Martin Chardin — ? Louise's social media now lists Lyon as her location. Have they split or changed coaches?

We just don't know yet. Except that Marie Dupayage and Thomas Nabais have retired, and that Eveniia and Geoffrey probably will continue. Loïcia Demougeot and Theo Le Mercier have ben quite outspoken that they are continuing also. But more than that? I just don't know.

Who are you referring to? Lou KOCH / Lucas CHATAIGNOUX
Also is Emi Dufour's partner Juan Carlos MARAVILLA the same person as Jon Maravilla who used to skate pairs with Saya Carpenter on JGP?

Just looked up their Rink Results pages. In Sectionals for the 2023-24 season, Juan Carlos was competing at Intermediate level in Singles, while Jon (Ignacio) was competing in Juniors in both Singles and Pairs.

The pages said they both belong to the Detroit club, so I wondered if they might be brothers. And after a bit of digging, I confirmed that they are.

There are actually three skating brothers, but the eldest, Antonio, no longer competes. There is more information about them on the skating website that their Mum runs:

https://figureskatingboys.com/about/

Hope this helps

Found on that website's YouTube account a video of Juan Carlos competing in solo dance. The kid can move!

I follow a SCOB coach on Insta who recently posted about Antonio, and I think this is the eldest brother https://www.instagram.com/p/DZtV-E4MCR-/
