2014-2015 Programs by Discipline

I'm a newbie to the sport who doesn't speak English very well, but let's give it a try: I'm a fan of Lipnitskaya and I LOVED SL (her SP too) but when some people say it's ladies figure skating, Mulan isn't the first song that crosses my mind. I'm sure her new SP will be beautiful (and the costumes  ) and I am definitely curious to see her LP. I thought that she would go for something that would make her look older, but I agree that she should enjoy her youth years before her age "forces" her to skate to something more mature.

NOT that Mulan is not mature, but it is very different from Swan Lake and Carmen :p

That said, all I hope is that her musicality has improven since SL. That style fit the girl in the red dress, but Mulan seriously need some artistry to make it, hmmm, moving. There is no innocence in the sacrifice of a girl going to war.

AS LONG AS it's not Swan Lake, Carmen, Phantom, Les misérables, Rach!!!:bang: Just something that I don't have to listen to numerous times each season!!!

This is the first I've heard this. It does seem a bit odd :/

Yeah, it was her FS back in 2009: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwtfFyF_FDc

It wasn't a bad program and I really liked her costume. She won the FS at nationals with this performance but was in 12th place coming in so she only finished 4th.

I think it will be nice if she reworks the program into a SP.

By the way, Tarasova&Morozov might be using the same music. Not sure yet though.

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding. The music for Tarasova&Morozov looks like Megapolis (I presume the SP) though slightly different from the video we've seen, because there is chorus as well in the second part and it's more grandiose.

Thanks for the link, I do remember the program. It was well done, I do think it could be a good short. The dress was gorgeous!

Because somebody who's not so interested in ice dance might misunderstand - it's not about Daria Popova, it's about Betina Popova :D

Isn't the song called All I ask OF you? And - yeah, next PotO!

It's nice to see her tackle something a bit different, and she looks like she's having fun with the Middle Eastern theme. :) I know it's a rough program but she really needs to get some transitions in there and make the first half of that as interesting as the last minute. It's rather painfully obvious that it's elements first with breaks and then she suddenly hits the energy switch in the final footwork/minute to leave a good impression. Her whole program should be more balanced.
