As expected, Duskova & Bidar and Mishina & Mirzoev are not on the entry list. D/B won the last year's title and are listed for senior Worlds in Helsinki, so their concentration on their senior debut at Worlds looks a reasonable choice. They definitely want to obtain Czech's pair spot for the Olympics next year.

M/M could've easily won the title as they swept the field in juniors, but they are said to be looking for new partners. It's unfortunate that their partnership didn't work out well for whatever reasons.

Though their absence wouldn't take away my interest in the event as long as my favorite, Amina and Ilia are to compete in the event.

I hope the Ekaterina and Harley do well as well as Liu/Johnson. I REALLY HOPE THEY DO!

If Liu/Johnson can land their jumps and throw jumps, then they should be good to go. As they have really good lifts.

This should be an exciting competition. Up to Christmas I would have had M/M as a lock for Gold but sadly they have since split up. It's nice to see that she has got a new partner already, I thought she might struggle. Hopefully he finds a partner as well, he is definitely one of the better men in the pairs field but his requirements/demands might make it difficult for him.

I would have the Top 5 as the 3 Russians, the Aussies and the Canadians (M/F). The progress that B/K have made over the last few months has been amazing and I think they are the favourites. A/S have, without doubt, the potential to win but they have become somewhat inconsistent so it's hard to know how they will do. I hope they skate well. I really liked U/V free skate at Russian Juniors, she seems to have overcome her jump problems. I would be happy to see them on the podium.

I was delighted to see the Aussies win their JGP, they skated brilliantly that day. They were a little of at the JGPF but if they skate their best they could very easily be on the podium. Has Australia every medalled at a Junior world champs? I really hope she gets her citizenship and gets to go to the OWG. I didn't realise they Canadians had such good PB's, I don't remember them from the JGP but with those scores they are definitely in the mix.

I think there is a strong chance of a Russian sweep.

^3T3T M/F's SB is incorrect. It looks like the Aussies' score got copied over.

Unofficially Matte/Ferland's best score was 151.85 set at Bavarian Open in February. Walsh/Michaud also had a SB with a score of 155.50 at Bavarian Open. Hopefully good enough for top 10.

Yes, I had M&F's SB wrong, but what I intend to list is:

Season's Best from ISU listings in junior competion.
listed as Sr. if earned in senior competition.

If no season best is listed, most recent Junior B score.
If no season best is listed, and no season value for a Junior B score, most recent Senior B score.

Anyway, the Opening Ceremony was supposed to be on the Eurovision livestream 10 minutes ago, but they are still showing highligts of the Men's SP.

She is adorable. Loved how they had skaters of varied ages to display skater development/increased skills yet still show community by having the skaters seem to guide each other.

Loved the way the Opening Ceremony finished.

The cermony had a "Sound Of Music" theme. As well as all the skaters with the flags, they had a group of skaters representing the von Trapp children.

The performance at the start was a medley consisting of the main theme, "My Favourite Things", "Edelweiss" and "Climb Every Mountain".

The performance at the end was to "So Long, Farewell".

So, when they reached the line "The sun has gone to bed and so must I", the wee tote lay down on the ice and closed her eyes as if she was sleeping. And one of the older girls came along, lifted her up and carried her off the ice. And then the wee girl started waving while being carried off.

So cute!!! :luv17:
