2014-2015 Programs by Discipline

Weaver/Poje have announced their music choices (at least in part):

http://skatecanada.ca/AboutUs/NewsDetails/tabid/2157/sni[2797]/3610/language/en-US/Default.aspx

SD: Paso Doble & Flamenco (choreographed by Pasquale Carmelengo, with help from an unnamed ballroom dancer)

FD: The Four Seasons arr. by Max Richter (choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne)

Oh my god, I was just looking at the list on the first page maybe an hour earlier to specifically see W/P's music choices and to see if I missed the announcements  Thank you!

Joshi Helgesson from her blog:

Short Program: Blackbird, Dionne Farris
Free skate: Snow white and the Huntsman

She and the Swedish troup present their new programs and costumes this weekend, August 23-24, in Stockholm. Open to the public and free of charge :) Information in Swedish.

Nice to see 7 boys/men among the 19 participants. Hoping for videos...

By the way... really good luck to Osmond wishing her an injury free seson

Love Jeremy's choice. Thanks for doing making something contemporarily relevant. Nowhere near a Bolero, Phantom, Carmen TG!!

Truth be told, there are so many undiscovered music gems from every period of music history, and 21st century is sadly neglected, and it doesn't have to mean orchestral OSTs or Disney songs only. Love it! Latch at Sochi would have been even more perfect, but it will do. I am glad he chose something that appeals to him rather than the judges. The judges need to be re-educated and challenged if the sport need to move forward to be relevant again.
(Plus Sam Smith is likely to be the one succeed Adele to do the new Bond movie, he is the new Adele.)

Totally 100% agree. This is perfect music for Jeremy with or without vocals. He is a master of skating to contemporary pieces (right there with Dai) and this is an interesting choice.

Yes to skating to something from the 21st century! I wish more skaters would drop the security of classical music and venture out to something that hasn't been skated to a million times. To me it gets really boring and I tend to tune out unless the skating is exceptional. I think judges would be receptive to the change if programs were choreographed and skated well. IMHO skating will continue to lose popularity if the music choices don't keep up with the times.

Stolbova/Klimov:

SP - oriental music with drums
FS - Notre Dame de Paris

Volosozhar/Trankov:

SP - Indian theme music
FS - Dracula/Van Helsing soundtracks

Oh my, Firebird? Really? She really want to show something totally different than her last season's programs.
