From rules: In Partial Step Sequence, if partners do no remain in contact at all times, even during changes of Hold and allowed stops, the Level shall be reduced by one Level (per element). This provision does not apply to loss of contact due to a Fall.

Maia and Alex lost hand contact in the middle of Partial Step Sequence - it is not very visible from camera - they had terribly bad angle camera today. In this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7vixbumu-M - it is on 2:49.
 
Whether or not the scores are inflated or not, at least it was consistant.

I personally can accept the placements after the SD. They can be justified (even though we can make reasons why the placements are wrong).

I really think that we as an audience needs to see how each individual judge and the technical panel ranked each couple.
Give us a small shout back to 6.0

Bleeding happens quite often when lady skates on her knee.
In the opening part of the SD after a jump over Ivan Sasha is moving backward staying on her knee (pictures taken from Russian Nats) -

After first Paso Doble section Sasha puts her right calf near to bleeding left knee -

Here in SD Sasha got bleeding skating on her left knee because ice was sharp, but her right leg was not injured.

All their Key Points were counted (it didn't happen during Key Points), but one Level went down because of loosing hand contact. So from Level 4 (with all Key Points counted) down to Level 3.
 
Look. This is what I have to say here:

I DON'T think that there is rigged judging. We ALL need to take a deep breath. I like the ShibSibs too. Do I wish they were higher placed? Absolutely. Am I complaining about it and claiming the judgng is rigged? NO. Not at all.

What I'm saying is that we need to accept what the judges say, move on and GET EXCITED for the FD. Yes. That's what I'm going to say about this.

I know your favorite might not have gotten a certain score here. But please don't think it'd because everything is rigged. No it's not. When I did competitive cheer we got lowly placed a few times. It hurt, but sometimes we knew exactly why we did. But we didn't think it was that the judging is rigged. Instead we tried to figure out WHY we got that low.

They need to loosen the rules for the SD. They are so unnecessarily punitive- a small time of separation doesn't threaten the ice dance and pairs worlds to collide!!!!
 
I get that feeling that the ice is a bit hard, not soft and smooth as the dancers are used to. Can they do anything about it, or will we continue to see a splatfest in the FD and other disciplines?

I absolutely agree. I hate spins in dance. I mean, I really hate them. I don't like them in Pairs either. Except maybe for the sbs spin, which I think are important in Pairs.

I hate pairs spins in dance, they interrupt the flow of the dance and in my opinion have no place in ice dance.
Look back at old videos of programs where spins were part of the program, they were only in one position and a couple of revolutions.
They added to the program, and didn't chop it up like current multi-position dance spins do.

Thank you for the explanation. I can't see the picture, but I understand what you mean.

As I thought, her other leg wasn't injured. It was the blood smearing.
 
I watched the whole thing live with the lovely people of GS and I don't think the judging was rigged. I just didn't like C/B's paso the best. I find it impossible to judge ice dance technically unless there is a fall or a huge bobble. I seriously doubt that it's rigged. I do think judges have favourites and I do think that sometimes there is biast toward certain styles of performing.

In ice dance levels are everything. If you get the levels you get the scores and you win. I still think P/C will win the FD. I'd like for W/P to win but I'm happy with the best team winning.

I liked the Shibs program better than C/Bs. I like the Shibs long better too.

C/B are a bit like Duhamel/Radford in pairs. A lot of people don't seem to want them to win but if they get the levels and other teams don't then they will. I just want the result to make sense and if C/B got the levels and other teams didn't then they should be in first place. IMO.
