Thank you, all! They had a rough Challenge, but I was so hoping they would come back. For those who know my posts, I follow very few skaters outside the men, but Nicole and Asher are ones I follow!

WOw. big score fore Weaver and Poje.

Well to me, their SD is better than Chock and Bates.
Im just waiting for Europeans to see how Papadakis and Cizeron's modern-feel SD stacks up.

Does anyone who watched can tell me if Kaitlyn & Andrew were really so much better in PCS department than Paul/Islam? Beacuse P/I had better levels than them (well, in one element, but still) and they're still losing to them like 8 points.

You also have to factor in grade of execution (so W/P were slightly ahead, 37 to 35 or something like that). But yeah 6-7 points ahead on PCS is a bit extreme, even if W/P are superior to P/I (who I thought skated beautifully and should be closer to G/P).

Did Paul and Islam change their short dance? I like them a lot, but went a bit cold on them this year mainly because I thought that program was a disaster that emphasized all the worst bits of D/L's style, but their score is huge here, so changes...? Or crazy inflation?

Welcome to Nationals.

Skate Canada seems to love them so they always get generous scores here.

Yes they seem to be overly generous to P/I then they bomb on the international
stage when the judges are not enamored with the way they skate.
Asher and Kharis at their only worlds came in 13th spot against a great crop
of Skaters in 2012. At least twice I thought they should have had the bronze at
Canadians but never got the generosity. Today Hill/Orford skated great and the difference
in marks between them and P/I is totally unwarranted. Their only problem was not
skating in the final group. Why are teams penalized because their is a bias towards
the last group. This type of judging is ridiculous, I see it less in the USA, if an unknown
team or skater does well they get the marks and can move up dramatically. This does
not happen here in Canada even if some in the last flight skate mediocre.

Don't understand the hate for P/I.
Yes it's Nationals so yes the scores are inflated, I mean G/P got 70 and one judge gave them a 10 in PCS!

P/I will self-destruct in the FD as usual anyways :confused2:

Actually their program was well skated and had both speed and power. You are upset because P/I marks were too close to your G/P darlings.

Good Lord no. She's wonderful. He's the new Margaglio. And as a team they're the epitome of "nice but infinitely forgettable."

YMMV of course.
