Honestly I feel like this is the style they have been skating throughout their career. If they wanted to experiment it should have been last season but this is the olympic year so its not surprising they are skating to their comfort and they are not the only one doing this.
looking at the music choices of the top skaters/teams, all of them are within their comfort zone, in fact some are even repeating their old programs.
