I actually think Gabriella's dress looks really nice : to each their own I guess
I take that back, what is Betina wearing?

And dear Lord, why do all the men have to act like they're going to a Samba Wake? There are other colors besides Black. Many many many other colors. Heck at this point I'd even settle for a pocket square in another color.
I see your point. I think the couples and music choices we are discussing and will be discussing this year (PC, VM) are not quite that extreme. Most of their pop or rock music does not have a beat added but was originally recorded with it (but I understand this was not your main point).
All in all, I don't think these particular couples are stretching the boundaries and rules too much. We'll have to wait and see if ISU decides they need to be more clear in their rules and decide to phrase them so that music has to fit the spirit of the required rhythms as well.
Really like Popova and partner - surprised they were not marked higher

Ok, I'm quite new in the figure skating world and, for sure, I don't fully understand the scoring system yet. But can you give me your opinions about McNamara&Carpenter's sd? They were the first ice dancers I saw on youtube a few months ago and I actually started to enjoy ice dance because of them. So since then I really support them and hope that they'll stand on the podium in the future. I watched them at the Lake Placid International and ACI. They got really good scores at the first event, now it seems a bit overscored to me but I still think their skating was great. After watching ACI, I was a little bit dissapointed, because their score was a bit lower than at the LPI, but still, it was good. And today I got the impression that it was their best skate of the three they had so far and they didn't get even 60 points. I know it depends on the judges and I probably don't see many things, but I want to know, what do you think about this performance. Do you agree with the score? Sorry if I made any mistake, English is not my first language
Like M/C they're new, and there is still the residual hangover of "you have to earn your scores" in ID, though COP has done more for getting rid of that nonsense than in any of the other skating disciplines.
Oh Bettina, you never fail to entertain. Polka dots may be on trend, but the costume is hideous. And while you've learned to reign in your tendency to over-emote to a very alarming degree for the most part, you are still pushing the "expression" into the red at numerous points in this dance. But one thing you can say for all the Russian IDs--they always have such terrific fundamentals. They still need time to gel, but this is a couple to keep an eye on.
Stepanova/Bukin didn't get one key point correctly? Wow. I need to rewatch that

Personally, they should be closer to the Danes. Whatevs.
If anybody knows what are the 3 key points, I'll be grateful ^^ I also think they should be closer to the Danes... even though they have incredible potential.
