I don't think this music or program concept works for Tanaka. I've seen him perform a lot more interesting programs. For me, this doesn't work, and neither does the casual costuming.

I know it's supposed to light and frothy and yadda yadda yadda, but it's coming off more as workmanlike to me.

And that costume is just oy!

I'm interested in why Nam has been SO drastically surpassed by his peers so quickly. I was totally on the Nam bandwagon and a few years ago, I figured he would be contending for OGM in 2018.

I'm interested in why Nam has been SO drastically surpassed by his peers so quickly. I was totally on the Nam bandwagon and a few years ago, I figured he would be contending for OGM in 2018.

Going to hook up IN in the bedroom and fall asleep to skating. I get sleep and skating! Yay!

His skating skills were never particularly strong — most especially he was noticeably slow compared to the top tier men. Then he hit a huge growth spurt and lost his jumps for awhile. So in addition to being slow he couldn't do the jumps anymore either. At worlds last season he didn't even make the free skate.

You can see now, though, he's getting his jumps back, adjusting to his new body, and has done work on his speed. All in all, I think things are looking up. He may not be contending for a medal at the Olympics next year, but he's definitely on his way back.
