Any videos up yet. I'm kind of feeling somewhat lost. I think I'll go check protocols blindly.

For me the top placements are correct. This generation is going to make Worlds very interesting. :dev3:
Overlord Hanyu, going out for blood of his enemies dressed in his 4CC silvers and pride versus New Overlord Chen with NBC/US hype, laser quads, actually dressed in his blood-red vest. I'm expecting some youtube trailers. Or maybe someone else will snatch the Gold? Shoma? Spider? Chiddy? Stay tuned.
Also, Yuzuru's emergency quad is my new aesthetic. :cool14:
still bummed for Chiddy
I noticed earlier that that Mexican judge gives funny scores for some elements.
Yeah, there were so many detractors who said Shoma shouldn't do a 4Lo. It will flop because he had never done a 4 quad before....blah blah blah.
It was his BEST jump in the program. Shoma just need to brush up on those axels!

Nathan has great line, posture, and balletic movement. Hanyu can't do that.

Are you serious?

Nathan's free program is not horrible, but if it makes you feel better to criticize his program, go ahead. If you want to see a horrible program, why not go and watch Boyang Jin's again.![]()
What Nathan is doing is remarkable. He was not at his absolute best, but he's human and can not be perfect all the time. He certainly overall performed better than Yuzu at this competition. Nathan did not have serious technical miscues in either program, while Yuzu did. What Nathan has just accomplished at U.S. Nationals and at 4CCs tonight is absolutely amazing, remarkable and groundbreaking. Even me, as someone who feels quads are over-emphasized and over-hyped can recognize the historic nature of what Nathan is accomplishing. Nathan is laying on the quads because that's what ISU wants and will over-reward. To achieve that at the rate Nathan is doing can lead to otherwise emptier programs choreographically, but that's nothing new. While at this point, Yuzu Hanyu has more impressive choreo and maturity than Nathan, Yuzu also has some weaknesses that are never acknowledged by the judges.
Remember that Nathan is only 17 years old, and if he remains healthy, the sky is the limit in terms of his overall growth as a skater. Nathan already possesses great musicality, fierce competitiveness, amazing jumping ability, and the capacity to grow as an artist. You don't have to like his program or his skating. There's a lot I don't like that I see in this sport but I recognize I have no control over what happens in the sport, what the judges decide and the direction the sport takes. I admire Nathan's talent and his cool, calm, collected personality. He's the real deal.
I dont think that Nathan Chen should score higher than Jin PCS wise...![]()
I tried to pm you but it said I reached my quota, and I've never sent one before?!
Thanks for the interesting stat. Sweet dreamsTL;DR:
The placements are right -- though I'd be cool with Yuzu winning but he did pop that jump in the SP.
I'm glad Yuzu won the free.
And Jason got the most point in total step sequences. Yay. (though Shoma had the higher STSq4 score by 0.1).
Good night everyone!
