Don't the judges take costume into account too? I say that rhetorically, while at the same time in the state of wondering. Surely, the costume can have some influence on presentation and interpretation?

I would thought everything matters in the presentation at the elite level. The smallest details can be an excuse to mark someone up and down. Human minds are very fickle.

Fine on the 4S. Only a 3T instead of a 4T. Smooth 3A. Only a 3S instead of an intended 4S. Nice 3A+2T+2Lo. Good 3F+3T. Out of nowhere fall on a transition?! Alright 3Lz. Those pops on the quads are going to crush his TES, though.

I wish Tanaka was brighter in this performance. The fans in China know of Jin's free skate to this music last year (please correct me if I'm wrong here), and this is a bit flat comparatively.

Career best skate from Max, nice to see him making a case for himself to the Olympics, but I'd still only put him as 5th best in the country if everyone skates their best. He really needs to stop missing that 3Toe combo if he wants the jumps to carry him.
