2017 GP Internationaux de France Ladies SP

The biggest gap with Zagitova, Osmond and maybe Sotskova, will be in SP. Even if Mai is perfect i wouln't be surprised if judges give her less than 70. Just hope that the gap won't be too big. She always delivers in the FS. She can score 140+, so at least beat Sotskova.

I believe Mihara will beat Sotskova. I do wonder whether they'll overscore PCS of Zagitova in LP again? (ok, unless she makes some crazy improvement in those areas but it's impossible). BTW. Tuktamysheva can factor in too more than previously esp. as she plans to add 3A to SP too.

You will see 70 PCS if she's clean (or seems clean).

They can throw whatever marks they want at Kaetlyn's sp, it's fantastic in every way. if she's clean, she'll score really, really big. The long program is an entirely different matter, although already this year her long programs seem better overall in terms of landing the jumps, than last year's. Mai is usually scoring big in the long program, so if any of the other girls make errors, she could really make up some marks (I expect her sp to be lower as well, too bad). It should be fun to watch because Kaetlyn and Alina are probably 2 of the main contenders who can compete with Med, so we'll see here which way the judges are leaning....

I agree with you on the contenders part, but it disappoints me so much, that someone who hasn't skated a clean FS since 2010 can be considered as someone who can compete with Zhenya...

Did you forget that Osmond is the 2016 World Silver medalist ...LOL....

Nope, I did not.
She still was not clean there, though. And has not been clean since then at a competition.
Having a world medal inflated her PCS a lot even throughout her consistent errors.

And likewise, a skater like Alina, who has not skated 2 clean programs all season, and newly arrived out of juniors, should be considered superior to Kaetlyn? IMHO, Kaetlyn at her best beats, Alina at her best by 10 points, or 230 versus 220.

See Jackie Chan's predictions for France as you may need a reality check, as your biases might be blinding and inhibiting, re results in France,

Guess we will find out. I have Osmond placed at no.1 so naturally I will want to do well in the predictions for once. I think it will come down to a few points. Either way I'm excited! I feel like France and China are going to be my favorites this year!

Potentially she can. I think Evgenia will get, and hopefully do so because she had done a lot in the past and I think she deserves, the gold medals ahead including the Olympic one.

But life doesn't always go as planned and if Evgenia makes some random mistakes, Kaetlyn's and Alina's potential scores are the closest to her and one of them might happen to be in a good day to skate relatively clean.

Kaetlyn skating clean isn't somethig like Elena magically winning the whole thing or Ashley surprising with a quad etc. It's quite possible.

That's what was said about Skate Canada, that it had the makings of being both a mini USA and Russian Nationals, with no clear winner. After Kaetlyn slayed, it was oh yes, well we knew she would win.

Funny how memories seem to fade here, after a few. ;)

No the one with selective memory is you. Check the Skate Canada predictions thread, almost everyone had Kaetlyn on top. The rhetoric was that she'd win even with mistakes.
