What I'm reading on twitter isn't making me feel very good about this. What is up with cursed GPs?

I've heard that the ice quality of the rink was poor this time around? Either way the ladies event was... underwhelming at the very least. However, whole season of GPs has been pretty lackluster save for ladies CoC, so I don't know how much credence I give to just the rink being at fault? Here's to hoping for some stronger men to break the curse!
