2017 GP Skate Canada Ladies FS

No one would take her?? That's wild to me, I know she wasn't the most stellar skater when she was younger with her consistency issues but honestly her ability to thrive with a coach like Tsareva tells me she's got the raw talent even if her coaching isn't 100% spot on. I suppose that's just what happens when you live in a place with so many talented ladies skaters.

I forget where she trains (Msocow?) but she was unwilling to leave the city. I'm sure if she'd been willing to relocate someone would have taken her.

Additionally it's possible she didn't want to go to just anyone. I'm not sure. I can try to find the articles if you truly care :)

Also, if you have the patients to watch them "non-live" they pop up fairly quickly on YouTube. I was able to watch Patrick's SP about 10 minutes after it was shown on a stream.

Apparently, at that time, she wanted to move to Buyanova:disapp: and trained for some days/weeks at CSKA. But it didn't work out, I don't know the reason.

Well said. Except for the resemblance to Maria, this is pretty much how I feel about Anna, a seemingly stoic yet fragile diva. She is gorgeous yet vulnerable. Her skating is that of a grown woman, sophisticated, sensual, and alluring, yet there is a childlike innocence and approval seeking. She is the beautiful talented woman child many can't help but have a soft spot for.

I strongly dislike Anna because she is so prone to meltdowns, because she doesn't know how to fall and because overall she looks very unhappy when she's skating. But I also hoped her Swan Lake would be a bit like Butyrskaya's.

1 hour 10 minutes left!! What a perfect day to watch a competition! Can't wait to see this battle of the Swans go down.

Marin, you got nothing to lose! Close your eyes, open your heart and nessun dorma!!! :cheer2::cheer::cheer2:

This means I have time to clean the house before it starts... I hope I don't lose notion of time!

When I read a comment like this, it makes me think there is more to the story when it comes to Anna. Maybe her parents are difficult for her coach to deal with. Skating is expensive and that can drive some parents to have expectations and in some cases "Demand" that their child receive certain privileges. I'd need to know the back story of Anna to make a real comment but, until then, I wish her the best. I'm sure she has dreams of going to the Olympics but, in Russia......I think it will be difficult for her to make the team.

I really hope that Kaetlyn will skate a clean free. We all know she has the goods, so I ask myself why it doesn't also come together more consistently in the free? That said, even in the direct comparison, I predict she will win the battle of the Swans because Anna obviously is not at the top of her game. When she is, she is hard to beat (by everyone not named E.M.), but this week I don't think it'll happen, at least PCS wise. Perhaps the most important thing is to regain back confidence and make a strong stand against Maria in this competition. If she skates clean or only with minor mistakes she should podium and perhaps has the chance to make the GPF. She can win Skate America, if she's more confident.

Haha...no, I cannot wait! It's Sunday tomorrow and I will brave an all-nighter and spend the Sunday in a fog.

My macbook is fine. You might want to try going to browser preferences to delete malware Add Ons.

A remember reading about that ... Buyanova only had one spot free for ladies in her team at the time .... it was between anna and maria ... they choose maria ... but i think it was because they had to choose not because they didn't want to train anna ...

My understanding is that Anna is college student in Moscow so it's understandable that she's not willing to relocate.
With regards to her coaching, I recall she praised Tsareva's new-ish assistant coach (can't remember the name but it's the handsome guy who often sits with her in KnC) as a big influence on the outcome of that succesful season (when she got WCh medal). Maybe he's not part of her team anymore?
