2017 GP Skate Canada Ladies FS

I'll just have to make peace with the fact that Anna won't go the Olympic Games. Idk if she ever will come back in form, but Russia has so many young talents....it breaks my heart because I love this girl so much....but....it really seems, as hard it is to say this...that...no, I can't write it. I will think it, but not write it down.

Yes, I'd love to know as well. Anna's coach looks and acts more like the cool older sister as opposed to a coach. I honestly wonder what their relationship is like.

It was weird for sure. Usually the coach would comfort the skater, even physically. Here it was like there was a massive cliff in between them.

I’m starting to think Anna’s worlds meltdown was more than just a meltdown...poor girl. I hope she goes home and rests up.

And the worst is that, even though Anna cannot make GPF now, she probably cannot WD from her second event either, because that would bury her chances to go to the Olympics (because we know russian nationals, they will probably just score as 3rd whoever did the best internationally during the season out of the ladies who do not implode on the nationals).

What did they say? It looked very awkward there with the massive gulf of sofa between them.

Her coach asked her what happened, when her legs seem to be so heavy does she try to clam down? And Anna answered: the more I try to calm down, the more nervous I am.

Wow what a wild ride! Never seen such harsh judging...except for Kaitlyn of course🙄 As pretty much all of us expected. Super frustrating but what can you do at this point. Proud of Ashley for fighting back, yeah she had some help for the other girls mistakes but she just as easily could have had an implosion herself. Hopefully we see 100 percent diva Wagner at skate America! Hope Anna isn't hurt too badly.

Wow! Canada sucks this year due to "fans":disagree: And also the judges.....NO COMMENT:hopelessness:

I know it seems that way, but it was the bad skates that came after her that really had nothing to do with Ashley.

That's true. I guess Wagnering usually means she killed it... she was merely fine and everyone else was just worse.

Ohh {{{{{{{{{{{Anna}}}}}}}}}} Get well soon!

OH well as far as I am concerned, Marin had won the FS event for me :D

I don't even care about the protocals... although I am sure it will make an interesting read.

I had goosebumps watching that warm, wonderful Canadian audience support Anna, rise to their feet and applaud her courage for sticking out her disastrous program, especially after she hit her head on the ice.

Too bad her bloodless coach doesn't seem to be able to do the same.

I really wish she would split from Tsareva. Anna is clearly not getting the emotional support she needs to be in the right headspace to compete, which is all the more important now that her body is also hurting.

What a weird competition. Honda was the highlight.

Can't believe Wagner still has a shot for the final. Courtney did way better than I expected. Shot for Pyeongchang? At this point I have no clue who's going to be on the team.

I know it seems that way, but it was the bad skates that came after her that really had nothing to do with Ashley.

Her getting 67 PCS for a very soulless performance of a program she has performed far better before had quite a bit to do with her.

If Ashley thinks she's getting near the podium at the Olympics skating like this she's delusional but i doubt Raf is happy to be honest.

I liked Marin and Rika's FS today. Laurine's is one of a kind. Karen's new FS has moved into my heart. The rest? I don't know.

This was an odd competition. After Marin's program I really thought we'd have some great performances. And honestly I would have had Marin 3rd, maybe 4th just behind Courtney.

Anna said something like "the more I try to calm down, the more nervous I am"

We need a heartbreak emoji. :ghug:
