Last year, maybe just the same skate Canada or Rostecolom? I think I wrote something like I was watching Finlands national or something like that.

And the worst is that, even though Anna cannot make GPF now, she probably cannot WD from her second event either, because that would bury her chances to go to the Olympics (because we know russian nationals, they will probably just score as 3rd whoever did the best internationally during the season out of the ladies who do not implode on the nationals).

Anna is not going to the Olympics. Trust me on that.

Apart from Kaetlyn, I didn't think anyone here held a candle to the top three at Rostelecom. This field looked sooo deep at the start too. I'm so disappointed for Marin, this should have been an easy medal for her.

I'm not sure where you're going with this. Yes, third was default because Anna melted down completely, but Hicks skated far better than Ashley in my opinion.

I'm just describing how it was coming across to me, that's all -- no ill will intended at all. I love skaters from all nationalities. Based on the comments here I was seeing/sensing something most other people were not so that's that.

It was great to see the audience supporting Anna. As a fan of hers I'm very saddened by her skate and her injury and was probably reading into it.

What a horrible event. Not only the winner was a disaster, and the main challenger had yet another meltdown, but this panel made absolute sure to give the middle finger to everyone else. How come Wagner's PCS suddenly dropped from 72+ to 67. Why everyone got strict calls on the jumps but Osmond.
Only in Canada.... what a freaking nightmare.

Yeah well, only "fair" complaint would be that there is not enough crowd on the event. But then i suppose Regina is not a large city, so we cannot compare it with events hosted in 5-10mi population capitals.

Courtney deserved it more than Ashley and would have got it if Ashley's PCS hadn't been so inflated.

All in all, this was an awful event. Hoping for the other disciplines to do much better.

Marin should have won the free skate by a MILE. Everyone says that if you're clean it should reflect on PCS right ? Not only does she deserve higher PCS, but she was the only one very clean. Feels like Mao 2014 all over again.
I like Osmond and I was rooting for her to win in her home country. But her free skate score is A JOKE. She didn't need that inflation she would have won anyway. Sends the wrong message...

Damn all those half-baked tano jumps. Maria's arm position is so ugly. I wish they would ban using that feature more than twice.

Instead of banning, I wish judges would have the guts to give negative GOE. If they're so willing to dish out the carrots for failed attempts at triples and quads, why not give sprouts to these alfalfa-like impersonations of a tano?

so sad for Anna, I was looking forward to watch her swan lake. when she's on, it'll be awesome, but she doesn't look ready (or maybe she is injured?) for LP at this point in time.
yay for Ashley - she often finds a way to climb herself back into contention. loved both her programms here - not perfect but full of new nuances.

No way in my opinion. Not after last season's meltdown at worlds despite the season being promising up to that point. i don't think they can afford to risk it when they have access to a very steady Sotskova that's almost guaranteed to score 200 something points and at least get a decent placement.

She herself didn't look happy with it. She probably knows she wasn't 100 percent and has a lot to work on...good thing skate America is a couple weeks away yet
