2017 Jr Worlds Short Dance

Nastia S. is just so   . Her figire is great.

This team is good too, maybe a future for Russian dance.

I cannot understand how the Russian couples can be so good in Juniors and then completely fail after turning Seniors. They have dozens of very good junior couples and basically nothing on the Sr circuit. And this only happens in ice dance.
With the exception of I/K, a couple who had what it takes to win everything (and despite their break up they did achieved success on the Sr circuit - two Olympic medals), the last junior couple who made it through the Senior rankings are B/S (the junior world champions from 10 years ago!)
Meanwhile, Canada and USA are presenting successful couples who didn't even compete together as juniors (Madison and Even, Piper and Maul, Madison and Zachary).

My stream didn't help me during the Parsons. However, glad to know that they earned their SB.

it was clean

but seems a bit messy in execution.

she sticks out like a sore thumb with some of her flappiness

The Parsons are simply in their own league this season. That is all.
What am I missing about them? I loved their effortless athleticism during the lifts, but wish they had more stretch in their leg extensions during the blues portion. I can understand couples understating their leg lines when there is a noticeable height difference, but that does not appear to be the case here

Their hideous FD choreography may hinder my perception towards them. The SD was so fast and fun. My eyes automatically were drawn to Pavel. He skated very big with a lot of assurance.

This just doesn't seem as sophisticated as the Parsons to me.

Yeah..I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if they'd gone before the Parsons. The comparison is not so favourable. Obviously the judges disagree with me lol

This seems to be a repeat of GPF. L/D will likely get first in the SD, but barely.

L/D's tech score just dropped 2 points. Interesting... Want to see the protocols about that.

One thing I do like about the program is that it is fully integrated musically. Nicely done.

I could do without the pre- and post- dance theatrics. It just struck me as cornball.

Should be 2nd, but we'll see. Scoring has been interesting this event.

Not too surprised with top 2 but very surprised with 3 and 4! Good for them. Expect jr gpf rerun. Keep it together L/D!

Well basically it's going to be a fight for gold between Parsons and Loboda/Dzoid and then a fight for bronze between at least the two other Russian couples, but I wouldn't put it past Carpenter/McNamera to make a comeback and grab it instead.
