2017 Worlds Men's FS

I thought SS had nothing to do with jumps. I thought SS was about edges and the purity of the blade on the ice. To me Jason's SS marks should be really high.

Judge number 8 (Igor Fedchenko) loved Shoma. 10 for Interpretation and Skating Skills
Judge number 9 (Margaret Worsfold) loved Boyang. 9s in everythig including a 9.5 for Transitions and Interpretation, 9.75 for Performance.
The Spanish judge only gave 6.75 to Jin for Interpretation

Spanish judge knew the writing was on the wall, alas Javi's mistakes were too monumental for even a patriotic judge to overcome.

Spanish and Canadian judges :palmf: Embarrassment.

I looked quickly.... the most important thing here is that judges always prop their countries' contenders.. ALWAYS...

we cannot compare with USA and Japan because they didn't have a judge this time ;) but really, all judges do it...

whatever the canadian judge did, pcs for both kevin and patrick were low.... and if it doesn't change the rankings for Patrick, it could have propped up Kevin...

so before calling for embarrassment perhaps it would be intriguing to see who lowballed patrick's PCS... or same with Kevin ;)

always there. He used to do 3A+3T but now he has moved the 3T to his quad combo
Really? This combo seems so unfamiliar to me. He has just so many times changed this poor program during this season.

Has Yuzuru attached 2T to 3A or this combo always was there?

The original combos were skated today.
4S+3T
3A+2T

but throughout this season, the 4S combo failed to be completed many times and Yuzu did 3A+3T. So what you have been seeing the whole season was improvisation.

Today is the original one.

Shona's triple Lutz received all -3s with one -2. He lost 2.10 on that. Plus the positive GOEs he would have gotten, that would be enough to beat Yuzu.
He needed 216, scored 214.
Just what if.........

Shoma's real crackers are not the quads but the hard triple axel combinations he does later in the program. They are huge point bringers for him. And his triple axel is to die for. I just love that jump, and that he landed the combo tonight was just so amazing. Remember, it's the first time he got over 200 points....and he comes and gets 214. It's time to take him seriously.

One thing I never thought I'd see at a World Championships was people declaring Patrick's PCs were too low. Next you'll try to tell me Canada got two ladies on the podium ... oh wait

Yes, when he double footed the 3Lz. I was thinking, it's okay, that is just a jump with low points (imagine calling 3Lz a low point jump). The diamonds are in the two triple axel combos. When he landed those, I know he got the medal in his bag.

While the others up and down, fighting, falling Shoma just went there and have done his best. Twice. My booy!
