Just so happy to see Dai-chan perform again. He made everything look so easy and his step sequences are still the best IMO. Loved seeing him smile at the end, and great to see the crowd being so supportive, not just for him but for everyone! Japanese crowds are the best

Am I right that Koshiro wouldn’t be able to be selected for 4CC or even Worlds, because he hasn’t done any international senior events this year?

I guess Team Champéry hasn’t expected him to do that well so see this as an option. It would suck if he’d qualify and cannot go because he just didn’t do a senior challenger...

I believe so, yes. I think he has to have that in minimum score prior to 21 days before the 4CC ( or World's) starts at a senior International event in the current or previous season

They would have to put him one in January for him to go to 4CC, and in n February for Worlds.

Koshiro Shimada: +5 lambiel points and great skate!

Sena Miyake: he knows how to pick a costume for sure, but he run out of gas

Yuma KAGIYAMA: the boy was on fire! Great performance and well sold

Shoma Uno: how fierce he was! I didn’t come to play for sure. Nailed every jump and messed up just the stpsq and with an injury, great job

Daisuke TAKAHASHI: paying tribute to the late bertolucci, uncle dai came to teach the yougsters how to serve the complete package, great and smooth tech and even greater artistry. Beautiful and breathtaking, I could watch this the whole day. :luv17:

Didn't watch the sp (Netflix much more important lol) but YUMA!! Skating in the last group with the big boys! I'm so proud of this future JGPF medalist lol At his rate of improvement, he is going to be simply FABULOUS next season!

I mostly just mean that they're not the sort of thing most people would generally wear out on an average day at the mall, that's all. Thus...skating! The chance to change costumes every 2-3 competitions to showcase as much fabulous fashion as possible!

Well, they are called 'costumes' for a reason. Shoma has it, so he can flaunt it.

I think you're taking my comments too seriously. I'm not saying he can't. I love Shoma and his every-changing sparkly/velvet/feathery costumes. I'm just saying that if he wants a reason to wear lots of flashy costumes, he's picked the right profession.

I actually did include smilies in my initial response.

Also, is "ridiculous" an insult about costumes in figure skating circles? I actually think FS costumes are meant to be ridiculous. It's a pretty flamboyant sport by nature. Boring costumes are just, well...boring?

I was mostly meaning to poke fun at how many costume changes he does over the course of the season, which I think is a pretty perennial topic of jokes.

I love Shoma's costumes and find that most of them are VERY beautiful -- especially the ones by the Japanese costume "guru", Satomi Ito. This year his costumes are much more minimalist and subdued, I think because it suits the music he is skating to. Sometimes he has costumes he uses for ice shows when he debuts his competitive programs, but he has different costumes for competitions. He is definitely on my best dressed list.

I see you have an American flag by your posts. Not sure what you think of some of our American compadres, but their bowling shirt look doesn't do much for me (or them, for that matter). Last year we met Danny O'Shea at Nats and were teasing him about how his costume actually had 4 sparkles on it. They could do so much better.

Here are the top 10 men after the SP. As to Shoma's injury I believe it is to his knee or leg. We don't know much other than it happened during
the warm up practice before the SP.
