2018-19 South Korean figure skating

Improved skating skills has nothing to do with empty choreography and a total lack of transitions though?
People should not expect her to improve all of her aspects in skating after just a summer. Her SP is a step up, LP not so much. But it is unrealistic to require her to do well both programs with packed transitions right away.

Sorry, the post made it sound like it was in response to the one above it like transitions

Got it and I do agree as well, about both; improved SS but lack of TR.

Still, it's beginning of season and I personally, do see potential in this program even if it's rather generic, I think it can be fun when she will fully own it :agree:

Eunsoo's FS is not so bad. The main issue is the lack of details, which is the main issue of Akiko's choreos Most of the time unconventional music choices but a bit generic choreo which doesn't make justice to the music unless if the skater has enough personality.
But her SP is already good. The dress is stunning.

Eunsoo was interviewed yesterday and a fan on twitter was nice enough to translate

Q: the ice didn’t look too good during comp, did it give you any problems?
A: the ice wasn’t good but my mistakes weren’t necessarily due to the ice. i’m mostly bummed about falling on the axel jump.

eunsoo really wanted to set a pb and did so for the short, but couldn't set an overall pb because she fell in the free. but it's still the first comp so she'll work harder for better scores in the future.
about training with raf, they didn't try any new jumps but worked on the ones she already had. they mostly focused on refining her posture. raf told eunsoo that she didn't need to change much because her jumps were already good, and that they'll focus on details instead.

when asked about her new life in LA, eunsoo mentioned that she made many friends and that they spend time together on weekends at the beach. she's friendly with all her teammates but there's a bit of a problem with communication (laughs)

eunsoo will be at us international classic next month! she competed at asian trophy bc she wanted to get invited to another senior grand prix. she's only assigned to cor at the moment but she wants another assignment so she's trying hard in the challenger series.

eunsoo's goal in the challenger series is to set a personal best! she wants to do well in her gp assignments in the hopes of being a better place next season.

Wow! Good for her! I hope she gets another GP spot and that she gives some flare to that FS. It is not all bad, the choreography is kind of good. I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece, so... It’s good enough. The SP is beyond what I expected, it’s beautiful and it flows and she skates so fast... And I’m forever grateful they are fixing her posture, it was what bothered me the most about her skating! Even if she doesn’t do amazingly this season, I can’t imagine how much she will have improved by next season. It seems she’s a fast learner!

By the way, she answered a lot of questions on her Instagram Stories, anyone here speaks Korean?? It seemed funny, she posted some pics with Raf “talking” to her on the ice. [emoji23]

Anyone here knows who this skater is? She seems pretty young.
I was impressed by her skating, surprisingly. Her choreography is actually good and she skates to the music very well. I liked this version of Hallelujah, so that helped too.
Anyone knows her name? I can’t read Korean.

Her romanized name is Ji Ah SHIN. The video title says she's at 4th grade of elementary school ( 10 ~11 years old I think). You can use her Korean name ( 신지아) to search for her other videos on Youtube.

Wow, she's fantastic! Thanks for posting this.

That costume and hairpiece are just unbelievably gorgeous.

Oh yeah! People were asking about her training conditions with Raf.

Private question here but how can I know who gave me season's pass?!
I want to say thank for him (or her) :luv17:
I will work hard for you guys by posting a lot about SK's 18-19 national events. Thanks again!

I’m going to eventually watch the TSL Raf interview but I’ve got to get up early tomorrow morning and I’m too tired to stay up - did he mention Eunsoo at all?

2018-2019 State of S. Korean Figure Skating

One of these days ISU made a post on Instagram saying some female skater whose name I can’t remember will not be competing this GP. And then they asked who do you want to see in this season’s Grand Prix? (something like that) and 99% said Eunsoo Lim! [emoji1326]*♀️

Too bad they went and replaced her spot with someone else though.:/ I don’t want to be salty, but I’m salty that they that to them BOTH. I totally understand not giving it to the two of them and only giving one a spot, but passing on them both, seriously? Ugh. It’s my gut feeling, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did this because both Dabin and Junhwan withdrew from SA last year.
