So proud of Kaitlin and Jean-Luc. They performed their hearts out. Jean-Luc is my favorite male ice dancer.

Edited: OMG, they won And Parsons on the podium too I couldn’t be happier about the outcome of this competition!

So given that they did this with having missed a bunch of time and no warmup events for feedback, I'd say this team is likely to be on the US Worlds team. They aren't ahead of the Parsons and McNamara/Carpenter by a ton, but they are ahead.

NHK is good luck for them! But yeah it's been a long time since they won a GP medal, and it's gold. I'm happy for both.

I will say while I love Kevin Aymoz's program more. Jean-Luc definitely can compete against Kevin in major choreographic slides!

There are still things to improve, but winning gold in their first competition is phenomenal for Hawayek and Baker. Congratulations!!!! And what a pity the RD of the British couple. They could have won bronze here. Such a lost chance.
